“I was way overdue to get my new prescription filled (due to the fact that thankfully distance eyeglasses are not a matter of necessity for me - yet)(the reading glasses have been a necessity now for 20 years) and not looking forward to going to the Burlington Mall (which is closer to my new house), having previously patronized the Harvard Square store. Luckily I could easily negotiate the terrible corridors of the mall and found it smack dab in the center of the mall. I’m a big fan of Maui Jim sunglasses and Good Look Optical has an excellent selection of top brands including my favorite, Maui Jim.

They offer very fair and reasonable prices comparable to what you would expect to pay online on the official Maui Jim website.

The benefits of shopping here instead are that you get to try them on first, you don’t have to pay for shipping or deal with the stress of getting a delicate item delivered, and you’re supporting a local business!

The owner Audrey is very knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly and has cleaned, adjusted, and sold numerous pairs of sunglasses to me in the past three years I have worked in Belmont.

I love shopping but I’m not an online shopper I much prefer to visit a physical storefront. Whether I’m buying sunglasses, watches, fragrances, or jewelry in my opinion you cannot compare online shopping to the experience of shopping in a well stocked and laid out store. Especially when the owner really knows their product. The customer service and human connection you just won’t find online or at big department stores.

So if you are in the market for a new pair of shades or just passing by I highly recommend popping in and seeing what’s available. Great small businesses like this are unfortunately a rarity in 2026 but I’m grateful this one exists.“
