BASE COLOR - NATURAL ASH PERFECTION! I have previously struggled with brassy base colors with other stylists. My nemesis! Hope created the perfect ash base color while avoiding brassy undertones. She actually listened to me when I said a developer at 20 was too strong for me and leaves my color brassy and she lowered it to what my fine hair prefers + tailored the color to my specific needs. She delivered that cooler base I had in my younger days.
BRIGHT HIGHLIGHTS = SHINE: The highlights are exactly what I wanted and have missed. The brightness against the ash base created that perfect contrast, imparting a shine straight from the beach. Her baby-lites are perfect and better for me than the trendy and thicker highlights that can overpower my fine hair and end up looking striped. Previously with other stylists, I have felt my highlights were muddy against my base color.
HAIR THINNING ISSUES: I am thinning around the hairline along my face and missed having highlights there, as base color only seemed to make it appear thicker but made my skin feel dull. Hope created the illusion of volume with a depth and brightness by artfully placing the highlights where I had enough base colored hair behind them to back them up. With highlights framing my face once again, I can pull my hair up or back and still have the brightness against my skin, yet I do not look bald.
SHE LISTENS! Hope's warmth, knowledge, and kindness were truly appreciated. She made me feel not only valued as a client but also understood on a personal level. I know with my very specific concerns, it might not be as much fun or creative for a stylist, but she never made me feel odd for all my input.

Any time I've needed a haircut and she was on vacation I've tried a couple other places in Lexington and Sulphur Kentucky where I live now.
They don't come close at all to the quality of cutting hair than her.
It is worth the 1 1/2 hour drive to see her.
Highly recommend this salon.

I just got an amazing cut by TJ. This was my first time here. I highly recommend this Hidden gem. TJ took his time and thoroughly went over everything multiple times (a true sign of a good barber who cares about the way their customer looks). This is the most impressive fade I have received. He has some great customer service. I also got a chance to talk to Marvin, another great barber. Love this place and I plan on returning for my next haircut. Highly recommend these guys.

Took my kid in for a haircut today, and we had such a great experience! The best barber in Lexington, hands down. Jerry is great, he made sure to reach out and confirm my appointment, and stays in touch about any delay (it snowed and roads were extremely slick so traffic was backed up.). Got a tour of the city deal so I only paid $20 for a visit to each each bed that they offer. The staff was very helpful and honest .The beds were phenomenal, could use a little better air conditioning and I couldn't figure out how to work the music but otherwise it was a great experience. I reached out to Hanna for an appointment for my wedding this past Saturday (my very first set of acrylic nails ever), and she did an absolutely phenomenal job! This is a VERY busy time of year for weddings etc., and Hanna was both upfront and professional with her communication and availability. She was easy to work with, charged very fair prices for her designs, and even did the nail removal/clean up pro bono since I was only able to wear my nails for a week and a half (had to remove them for the work I do). The design we went with was a cat-eye/glass nail in a beautiful neutral color that blended so well with my natural skin tone. Her shop is immaculate, and she has so many options to choose from/great recommendations. If you go into any appointment (hair, makeup, nails, clothing, etc.) with realistic expectations and understanding for what they do (time/effort/money/skill), the results will be fantastic. looking for—usually still intact at weeks 3 and 4! Once when a nail chipped after 2 weeks, they fixed it promptly and for free. The style is 1990s and a bit drab and sometimes the nail techs seem tired and bored, but after 20 years, I can’t blame them. I just want nice, long lasting nails at a fair price without too much waiting and I get that here. A lot of the nicer places I’ve visited gave gel manicures that didn’t last over a week, so I’m glad to find folks who are competent at their job!

Words cannot describe how wonderful my experience was here with Mickey and Samantha. The kindness, compassion and love that they showed me has made me a life long customer. I came in with quite the disaster of a color situation and they took time and were very gentle with me (it was embarrassing walking in there such a mess) and literally performed a miracle. Not only is Tatjana certified in hair extensions, she regularly attends education to stay up to date on the latest techniques. I started seeing her over a year ago; I found her on the Face Reality website & really wanted to get on top of the adult acne I had been experiencing since covid. I joined the Acne Bootcamp program & when I tell you Trish has worked miracles on my skin… I mean it! My acne has cleared up significantly & she’s really helped eliminate dark marks & even out my skin tone. She is incredibly knowledgeable about all things skincare including diet/lifestyle habits as well as the best skincare products for your skin type. She also makes herself easily available through text if you have questions or need to do a last minute product pickup, and I never ever feel like she’s trying to “upsell” me on things I don’t need. The acne bootcamp facials aren’t exactly intended to be relaxing (since a good portion of it involves extraction) but I always find myself looking forward to them & feel so relaxed that I take a little nap every time— LOL! I really feel like Trish has given me back confidence in my skin through her empathetic & attentive care. I absolutely love Shawna. She is so sweet and when it comes to waxing she's very quick and efficient. I typically always get the Brazilian wax and I'm in and out in 15 minutes or less, depending. But she's very welcoming, professional, and friendly. Her salon is clean, smells amazing, and always has a good vibe going. I highly recommend her if you need any self care services done :)
I was super nervous about my first time getting waxed but Vivian definitely made it very comfortable and not at all awkward. It was like I was just having a chat with an old friend and I wasn’t at all uncomfortable. Tara was great! My hair was absolutely gorgeous. My makeup also lasted all night, including the lashes, which always seem to lift for me but they didn't budge. She was very kind and professional. All my girls loved her and they also looked amazing! The only thing I was slightly dissapointed in was that I asked to have my ears covered and they unfortunately were out in every picture. That being said, I would still 100% recommend Gatwick and Tara!
I loved my makeup with Kristin. Honestly I am just devastated that I don't live in Lexington - I would get my makeup done here for every event I ever go to! She did my makeup for my wedding weekend - both on Friday for the rehearsal dinner and Keeneland and for the ceremony on Saturday. My makeup lasted all day and still looked gorgeous at the end of the day and I have never felt so beautiful in photos in my life. I am not typically a photogenic person, but here I felt like I looked like the prettiest version of myself too, not like a totally different person. I also really liked how my lashes looked - Kristin is an expert at those! Really recommend her and her team. Even all of my bridesmaids and my mom loved their makeup as well and they look beautiful in the photos too! We are framing so many of them now and it’s so hard to choose which ones.

My tattoo I got here from over a decade ago still looks nice. I was in there recently for something and what stood out was that it was very clean in there. Some may not like it but their site states they refuse to do unsafe piercings and I actually think that is a responsible thing that reflects positively on the establishment.
Amazing piercer. Lacy makes the appointment so fun and really knows how to talk to her clients. We had great conversations and she did a great job on my friends ear. Also, the jewelry is a very reasonable price and they have the best deals on tattoos and piercings. Definitely check them out!!

Me and my boyfriend were out of town and wanted to get a quick tattoo before we leave from vacation. Called the store to see if they had walk-in and sure enough they did. We went to the place was clean and quiet. Me and my boyfriend both got tattoos and was out of there at a reasonable time. Matt was very nice and talkative. I will forever remember him and this will be my next place to go for a tattoo. He is absolutely a life saver and on top of it, he has a light hand so I could just imagine his hand while tattooing. I give all the stars!!!!

The receptionist (Jennifer?) has gone out of their way to schedule getting life back in order each time. Our experiences now include HVAC and water heater care or replacements. They always given us all the options without the pressure sell and made us feel secure that we were getting the best equipment for our home. Meanwhile, on one particular occasion, the work had to be done while my elder mother was the only receiving person at home. She was made utterly at ease. We had a great experience with HDH! We were referred by a friend who also had a good experience with remodeling of his home. Our project was large, including complete renovation of a kitchen and 3 bathrooms. From the first visit, Erik (owner) was so helpful and accommodating. I had a vague idea of what I wanted for our space and Erik was able to take what little vision I had and design something beautiful and updated that is still widely appealing if we ever decide to sell our home. With his design and layout ideas, we were able to add our own touches to fit our family.
The crew who actually completed our project (Victor and Ray) were fantastic. They worked on the project like it was their own home. We felt totally comfortable leaving the home for errands, knowing they were trustworthy and would take care of things and continue working while we were gone. They arrived right on time every day and worked throughout the day, efficiently completing all the work. And the work they completed is of excellent quality, with attention to detail. I'm pretty picky and Erik/team addressed any concerns I had. Erik was responsive and stayed in close communication throughout the months-long project. Steve and his men did a great job replacing our sidewalks after a 105 foot tall pin oak tree fell across our front yard during the 2009 Lexington ice storm. Portions of the sidewalks had been crushed 3 feet into the ground. They removed the broken concrete, leveled out the ground and poured us nice new sidewalks. We had a couple of big overgrown very tall trees. They came and trimmed both of them and it has made a big difference. Cleaned up what they cut and a small pile I had cut too. Had really good equipment. Also they are arborists as one tree I was not sure it was worth saving.

When every other company was telling us it would take months to get to us, Ivan and his team were able to get to us much faster than that and for a very reasonable price. He is excellent -- took a lot of time to figure out how to help, treated me, and recommended follow-up and exercises to strengthen the affected area. We arranged a couples massage with Lee & Bella for a deep tissue massage! Very swanky venue that restored an elementary school into various small businesses. Woman owned and led. Coffee shop and photography. Gym in the basement. Upscale boutiques and gift shop. Nice staff and very welcoming. Clean and attentive. Friendly and accommodating. Informative about future therapy.

I am absolutely obsessed with Reform! Every morning at 8am, I would be so excited to go to Reform because the instructors were so amazing and I left class feeling so strong and toned. All of the instructors are amazing, but I personally loved Hannah and Amanda’s classes. I love Reform because you spend the whole class on the reformer (some other chain pilates studios don’t use the reformer the whole time which bothers me) and every class was something new and challenging. The environment is so fun and friendly as well. I am currently back at home and I miss Reform so much!! Best pilates studio in Lexington by far!

Had my first ever [solidcore] class today and it was the most fun and intense workout class I have ever taken. Emma was the instructor for my class and there are not enough nice words in the world I could say about her - she was energetic, encouraging, so motivating, and kind. I never felt out of place or like I looked stupid in this class. I would highly recommend this location (and Emma as the instructor) for anybody interested in trying this. I will be back!
I've been a client of Laura Cox, the chief yoga instructor at Breathe Pilates, since 2013. It's been one of the best parts of my life since -- practicing yoga as her student and client.I started yoga knowing NOTHING about it. I wasn't exercising regularly and rarely ever had. Over several years working with her and other fine folks at a local hot yoga studio I still go to on off days from Breathe, I learned peace and grit while gaining strength and flexibility I never thought a middle-aged guy could pick up. The main reason for that was Laura's excellent teaching. She remains enthusiastic in each class, individualizes instruction for you in group settings, and was very popular among the clients at the studio.She had wheels in motion to open her own studio just when the COVID lockdown hit, and she went through with it, opening first through Zoom and over time in person (though she still has several Zoom clients from all over the country). I started attending her Vinyasa classes and am so glad I still do. My strength and flexibility continues to improve, and it says a lot that I get out of bed early to go work out with her when I'd usually sleep in otherwise. It's an amazing way to start the day three days a week.Laura's studio at Breathe is the best yoga experience you could ask for. It only holds a few people, and it's not unusual for there to only be a couple of us in person with one or two additional folks on Zoom. That means she can really help us individually, and we also get to have fun with her as she sings us instructions or yells out "Party Toes" randomly. She designs workouts that she knows we need and caters them to who's in class that day. For example, I fell on black ice six years ago and smashed my L1 vertebra together, limiting my lower back flexibility and especially my ability to do situps and traditional ab work. It's common for us to do ab work in yoga classes I attend that I can actually do -- she makes it possible for me by seeking out exercises for that part of the body that vary from the standard, and yoga has helped me live a normal life (my physical therapy -- the doctor told me to go back to yoga class as it was already doing all we'd do in PT). She's always learning new methods and trying them on us to help us as a class and individually -- a perpetual student and teacher.So if you're new to yoga or have some experience and just want to find a relaxed and helpful studio, Laura's Breathe yoga classes are an awesome choice. Her rates are reasonable, and her careful guidance is priceless.

Hired Centered Lex for an event off-site and they were INCREDIBLE. So accommodating and wonderful to work with. Josh, Matthew, and a female whose name I didn't catch were fabulous. I specifically received work from Matthew and it really helped. I have always seen massages as relaxing and to work on your muscles alone, but they can do so much more! And they did for me!

So I have been going to Lion and Dragon for almost 2 years; and let me tell you I can't even begin to tell you how good I feel after each session. Brenda has literally helped relieve tension, pain, and overall improved my quality of life. I was sent by the VA and have always chosen to come back. Each time I enter the office I am greeted warmly and asked what pains I'm having and am guided to the room and given time to disrobe and have the massage table heated(very big perk as it's cold) during the time I'm either attended to all pains or aches and each time given courteous and prompt help each time. I can't say enough about this place. Will continue to keep coming back

Blue Lotus is AMAZING! I have had insomnia for about a year and a half, sleeping an hour or two a night and arthritis pain. After 4 visits, I am now averaging 6-8 hours a night. Ramon has recommended a few things to do around the house and something from the health food store along with Chinese medicine. I have almost no arthritis pain left. It's almost unbelievable. No matter what your problem is book the appointment you will not regret it!!
