Best flooring experts in the Lexington area! Start to finish this was so much easier than expected! Sarah came to do two measures, way out of her way before he day even started (oops on scheduling the first time to get in the house pre-move in day), provided samples and got me exactly what we wanted, hustled to arrange installation before our movers arrived, and was lovely and professional throughout the entire process.The installers did a gorgeous job, were polite and considerate, and worked long days to get the job done in time for the movers arrival.

After 10 years…we did some remodeling and needed a small amount of dura-ceramic tile to match what was installed before. Really incredible effort from these folks to track down just a couple is exactly matching boxes (rather than just telling me it was discontinued yada, yada) and coming out to install for small fee. Beat buying 600 square feet of something new.We have also bought carpet twice from these folks and have always found them competitive with big box places but with a whole lot more customer service. We won’t even shop around anymore.

We recently had new carpet installed in our family room by Mathis Flooring, and it looks great! Vernon Mathis and Allie Tippins were very professional, responsive, and easy to work with. When the supplier didn’t have the carpet we initially picked out in stock, they suggested alternatives that were available, and we really like the one we finally chose. Their installation crew was experienced and efficient, finishing the job quickly. We highly recommend Mathis Flooring!

Mathis Flooring was started by Vernon Mathis in 1978 in the front of a barber shop. Vernon began his career as a barber and after cutting hair during the day started installing floors during the evening on the side. He had both businesses inside his shop on North Hanover in Lexington. Soon the flooring store demanded more of his time and that was the beginning of a successful business that continues to this day. Vernon always puts the customer first and treats them with fairness and honesty. His son David took over the business in 2009. He along with his wife Reneé have continued to strive for the same principals passed down by Vernon. David always goes above and beyond for each customer. Vernon continues to work every day
