We have actually been blessed to have two of our children in Ms. Emilia’s classroom, and watching her pour the same love, patience, and encouragement into both of them has been such a gift. Our older son absolutely adored her, and we saw incredible growth in him during his time in her class. Now, seeing our daughter experience that very same love and guidance has been just as special. It speaks volumes about the consistency, passion, and heart Ms. Emilia brings to teaching every single child who walks through her classroom doors.
From the very first day, she created a classroom filled with love, patience, encouragement, and joy. She has an incredible gift for making every child feel important, capable, and deeply cared for. Every time I walk into the classroom, I’m reminded of just how special she is. The children absolutely adore her. They eagerly run to greet her, constantly tell her how much they love her, and light up in her presence. It’s obvious that she has built a classroom where every child feels safe, valued, and excited to learn.
The growth we’ve seen in our daughter this year has been nothing short of amazing. She has blossomed academically, socially, and emotionally, and so much of that is because of Ms. Emilia’s unwavering support, encouragement, and belief in her. Our daughter comes home excited to share what she’s learned each day, and that’s a direct reflection of the positive, engaging environment Ms. Emilia creates.
As parents, there is no greater comfort than knowing your child is loved while they’re away from home. Ms. Emilia has given us that gift not once, but twice. She has cared for both of our children with extraordinary kindness, patience, and compassion, and we will forever be grateful for the lasting impact she has had on their lives.
Leaving Nest Academy is incredibly bittersweet because this school—and especially Ms. Emilia—has become such a meaningful part of our family’s journey. We are beyond thankful for the beautiful memories, friendships, confidence, and strong educational foundation she has helped build. We got estimates from 4 companies, and not only was Superior one of the most reasonable cost-wise, but there was a world of difference in how thorough, responsible, and knowledgeable they were. It never felt sales-y, just honest and helpful and extremely communicative. We have a pool and needed to replace our leaning fence before it fell down, and they understood the urgency and were able to get us in very quickly despite it being their busiest time.
The crew, led by Darbin, continued the excellent service, showing up on time, working hard through a 95-degree day, having us sign off on everything before they did it, and staying until after 7pm to finish as much as they could in one day. They completed the job quickly the next morning and made sure to walk through the whole yard with us to be sure we were satisfied with both the work and the cleanup. The fence, cut and crafted on site (with old one fully hauled away), looks great - no gaps and well-constructed. We would 100% recommend Superior to anyone who asks!

After being severely sick with COVID and having to take so many different medications, I developed Seborrheic Dermatitis. I purchased the Nourishing Scalp Serum and I love it! I use it on my scalp as well as my eyebrows and I have noticed a huge difference. The formula is light, feels great when applied and is safe to use on your skin as well. I highly recommend this product and all services offered.
These guys were great! We had some siding come off due to high winds. We found them online, messaged them and we heard back in less than 24 hours. They came out as soon as weather allowed - after that it was a breeze to get an estimate, match siding color, and get the work done - all very affordably. Their communications throughout the process were excellent, which is a huge plus. Highly recommend!

I highly recommend Don's Furniture Restoration. We could not be happier with the furniture repair and refinishing service we received from Don and his team. They did an amazing job restoring an antique table that was broken when our living room ceiling crashed to the floor. We were sad that we had to throw away a lot of things that were not salvageable but absolutely did not want to throw away this table that was one of our parent's favorites, so I did a google search and decided on Don's based on good reviews. The table needed to be refinished before it was broken, but we took it to Don's just to see if it could be repaired, but he saw to it that the wood was refinished and repaired. The craftsmanship and attention to detail were next level. The Customer Care (not customer service) was superior, and we picked up the table within the time frame that was promised. We are so happy with the finished product that we will be taking a mirror; that was also broken when the ceiling fell, in for repair. Don explained the process clearly and produced a beautiful table. I have been seeing Marina for highlights and haircuts for about 2 years. Not only is she an amazing person, she is a skilled and phenomenal hairdresser. People ask me who does my hair, and I have referred several other people to her who also love her. Her skill with color is top notch and I always leave feeling so happy with her work. I’ve been going to ABC Family Barber and Salon in Lorton, VA, for a few weeks now, and Lisa has been awesome. I’m Filipino and have thick Asian hair that tends to stick out when it gets longer, so it’s not always easy finding someone who really knows how to cut it well. Lisa understood my hair type right away and knew exactly what to do.
She does a great job with skin fades, pays attention to the little details, and always makes sure the cut looks clean and natural. I have been a loyal customer of Lorton Barber Shop for 26 years, since the day Jack first opened his doors. In fact, I was Jack’s first female customer.
Our relationship started with a challenge. At the time, my hair reached midway down my back, and Jack made it very clear that he only cut men’s hair. I told him that if he had the skill and owned a barber shop, it should not matter whether I was male or female. A good barber could cut my hair. Jack accepted the challenge, gave me long layers, and everyone loved my hair. That visit started a 26-year hair relationship built on trust, talent, and respect.
Over the years, Jack has cut my hair in many lengths and styles. He has given me long layers, bobs, pixies, and now a Caesar cut. He has colored my hair, cleaned up my eyebrows with a blade when they needed help, and always made sure I left his chair with confidence.
About eight years ago, due to the aggravation of military injuries, I decided I wanted the big chop. Jack refused at first. So I took his scissors and snipped the front of my hair to show him the length I wanted. I do not know everything he said in Vietnamese, but I knew Jack was not happy. By the end, though, he smiled because he loved the bob. That is Jack. He may challenge you, but only because he sees every head as his masterpiece and every client as his calling card.
Every time Jack cuts my hair, I receive compliments from both men and women. Many of those people later went to Jack so he could square them away too. I have even had friends ask me to personally bring them to Lorton Barber Shop so they could see Jack for themselves.
Jack is more than a barber. He is a Master Barber. I have watched him transform clients so completely that they looked like different people when they left his chair. He takes pride in his craft, respects the person in his chair, and makes sure every customer leaves with a smile.
After 26 years, I can say this with confidence: Jack is gifted, consistent, honest, and truly one of a kind. Lorton Barber Shop is not just a place to get a haircut. It is a place where skill, care, and pride still matter. Highly recommended.

I can't say enough good things about my experience with this owner and Salon! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warmth and a calming atmosphere that instantly put me at ease.
The owner, Seble is truly exceptional. Her view on customer service is top-notch; she took the time to listen to my needs and offered thoughtful recommendations that perfectly suited my style. It's clear that she genuinely cares about quality.
The salon itself is impeccably clean and well-maintained, which made me feel even more comfortable during my visit. I was impressed by the attention to detail in every aspect of the salon, from the waiting area to the styling stations.
What stood out the most was Seble's pleasant demeanor. Her calming presence made me comfortable booking an additional appointment for my 2 and 4 year olds and she did very well with each and managed a very fidgety toddler with cool and ease. I've since been back a total of 3 times.

Dora Electric was the 4th electrician I called on a Thursday afternoon. The first one required me to open an account before they would even listen to my issue, the next two were robots, and then Yesser picked up the phone at Dora. It was an emergency call and he was up front about the pricing. I thought I knew what the issue was (at the time I was sure I knew) but then Yesser arrived and followed a very methodical process. Instead of replacing a circuit breaker, he fixed the outlet that had gone bad. Because he didn't let me push him around and tell him what to do and followed his own training and experience, he found the problem and fixed it on the first attempt. He actually ended up charging me less than quoted, which I've never experienced with ANY contractor. This guy is in my contacts for all electrical work from now on. Fantastic electrician.

My wife and I recently had our entire yard, front and back, redone by J&J Landscape Management. The previous yard was a multi-decade overgrown mess, with pavers, weeds, vines, and a deck that was no longer functional. I considered DIY but realized the scale of the project was beyond my abilities. We approached several different landscaping companies to receive quotes, and David and the J&J team were easily the most qualified and comprehensive. David sent us a beautiful rendering of his vision which included several items I had not considered. We worked together to meet our needs and also fit into a strict budget, which I had told David from the start. What was nice was that he also provided ways that we could reuse some of our existing materials and plants, saving us money. His extensive knowledge of native plants was very helpful and his suggestions were spot on for what we wanted.
The crew was very polite, quick and skilled. The crew that installed a new flagstone walkway were amazing, very considerate and professional. Pardomo and his guys, who worked on the landscaping and demo, worked fast and without disturbing the parts of the yard that we were keeping original. Whenever I asked to add or remove something, it was done. Tony was also a big help in completing the final stages of the project, when we actually added some new plants, lighting, and more demo not originally in the first contract.
Pricing was clear and the proposals were very detailed. I can tell that they only deal with high quality materials, and intend for their work to last much more than a few years. Our project needed a complete overhaul, and J&J delivered. Thank you to the team from a very satisfied home owner!

Independence Landscaping was contracted with VDOT for snow removal in the Lorfax neighborhood during the January 2026 snowstorm. Snow removal was difficult due to the amount of snow and the icing that followed combined with extreme cold. Lorfax streets provided additional challenges.
I had the pleasure of meeting Eswin Yanes Perez who was working as a plow operator. Eswin, despite having worked long days under difficult conditions, committed to clearing Wells Road. Eswin took pride in his craft and cleared the road all the while taking care not to block in driveways!

Of pain on the right side of my mouth…Dr. Do and her staff took several x rays and completed a few more tests. No infection present. We will be working on a cracked tooth repair in the near future. Dr Do is thorough, patient and very communicative . She also has a great sense of humor…which is important for me…I’m a chicken when it comes to any dental visit or procedure. She and her staff put me at ease!

A wonderful theater venue in the DMV! Only frustration is the lack of signage on campus, which made it hard to find the theater. Other than that, extremely cool space!
