“My cat had gone through 2 emergency rooms and 1 regular vet visit ( In mississauga ) and $4000+ in medical bills later i was referred to by a friend to check out Abbey Animal Hospital in Oakville !
Dr. Adam Rossborough was AMAZING . He immediately took over the details from the last 3 doctors that we had sent their facility and went through all the options together . What i appreciated about my first visit with Dr. Rossborough was his attentiveness and the fact that it felt like he actually cared for the animal. He was confident in assesments which i found re-assuring and comforting . I also expressed that I had already spent an alarming amount of money to resources that led me to where we are and yet my cat is still having respiratory issues . He gave plenty of options that worked to my favor and it once again felt like the service performed was not transactional .
Days passed after my first visit and my cat appeared to have been recovering ! From Aug 19 to Sept 15 . my cat Peri seemed to have slowly been recovering . Breathing normal , appetite there ... and I was so happy until about the middle of september my cat started having trouble breathing and has had an immense loss of appetite out of nowhere agaiun . I went to see Dr Rossborough right before he was away on a trip and he had prescribed medicine tho hopefully help. He had advised based on the x-rays and analysis that there is a high chance that there is liquid in my cats lungs . He prescribed medicine ( pills ) for my cat to which I followed to administer to my lil guy hoping for a full recovery once and for all .
2 days later i started to notice that my cat was slowly losing complete interest in eating and i needed to inquire what to do. It was Tuesday Sept 22 and my cat was deteriorating FAST so i reached out to abbey animal hospital . Shelly and the other lady at the front desk said they will let the Doctor on duty to call me back just to answer my question regarding my pet . I called x2 asking if i could just speak to the doctor for even 2-3 minutes and they advised me that they cannot guarantee as this doctor was the only doctor on duty.
The time was 5:45pm and still no return call . It was late in the afternoon and to my shock . My cat unfortunately was having a 5 minute long seizure , serious breathing meltdown ( he was really suffering ) that I really was left with no choice but to look at end of life options with the local vet he visits here in Mississauga . i had mentally prepared myself for this sort of situation days ahead and i didnt want to wait for a phone call any longer and end my cats suffering . I made the difficult choice that evening ;At 6:40pm i put my cat to rest at the hands of the 2 ladies from the local vet nearby and he is no longer suffering.
I want to take a moment to share my experience with the Abbey Animal Hospital and that Dr. Rossborough did a phenomenal job looking after my lil guy Peri at the time . Sadly i wished Dr. Ross was around when Peri got really sick i could have really used his advice . Thank you Dr. Rossborough and the Ladies at reception who answered and returned my calls ! Your kindness and assistance towards Peri has gone unnoticed and i am forever grateful !”
