We want to say a huge thank you to Dr. Caitlin Forbes and her team and make a “five star” recommendation of the Clarkson Village Animal Hospital.
Late in the afternoon on Friday Nov 18 our Brittany ‘Remi’ got quilled by a porcupine in the mouth and nose, while walking off-lead in the Halton Forest. It was nearing 4:45 pm when we finally got in the car and had cell service. We were disappointed that our regular vet in Oakville would not see us as it would be too close to closing. Other emergency hospitals weren’t even answering the phone.
It was a great relief to be welcomed by the Clarkson receptionist, then met inside by Dr. Forbes and two assistants who immediately dealt with Remi. We received a most appreciated, informative follow-up call from Dr. Forbes herself within the hour and we were able to pick him up shortly thereafter. The invoice was very reasonable and less than we were expecting.
After forty years as dog owners, this was our first veterinary “emergency “. We were quite impressed with the calm professionalism and welcoming team and again, wish to both thank and highly recommend this clinic.

The team at CVAH provides excellent care to my kitties every time I visit. My orange boy Jonesy is a very nervous guy, and always poops on the way to the vet. Then he gets it all over himself in the carrier. The Clarkson team gladly cleaned him up, as well as his carrier, and provided a comprehensive plan for diagnosing the potential causes of his vomiting, as well as treatment options.
My other kitty, Xeno, is very chill and her portion of the visit was over and done in just 5 minutes. A quick annual exam and vaccine booster with no troubles.
It’s hard to comment on price as I’ve only ever been with this vet team, so I have no basis of comparison
