Today, I brought in my own frame for new lenses, and Roy noticed the old glasses I was wearing. He gently asked if he could take a look — then, as a kind gesture, tightened them, replaced the nose pads with soft new silicone ones, and made them feel brand new. All within minutes, and completely for free.

He even apologized for the short wait — which made me smile, and i was thinking like, “Bro, you just performed a full glasses makeover while I blinked… no apology needed!

“I have worn glasses for most of my life and have never met any other optician like Aixa. First of all, she actually helps you pick frames, which in itself is unique. For all other stores I have been to, the optician doesn't get involved until you have picked frames. She has a good eye for what frames stylistically looks good on your face, yet also knows what frames are going to physically fit. If Aixa helps you pick frames, you won't have fit problems like glasses that slip off your face. Additionally she is the best I know at adjusting and knows more about lenses than anyone else I have met. We had the option to buy frames from her and get lenses elsewhere. Yet I wanted to order the lenses from her as well because I knew she would recommend the best coatings for my situation. The price they charge really is worth it for their high level of individualized service, expertise, and getting a good quality product for something that you will be wearing every day for at least the next 2 years. Where else can you get this level of service and expertise? So far I have not found a comparable store.“

“I had never been here before. But I needed an appointment ASAP after my kitten scratched my eye accidentally. My phone call was answered on the first ring and they were able to see me immediately. (Not something I expected they’d be able to do!) The front desk, pretester, and doctor were all very friendly and helpful. My prescription was sent in and filled before I had even left the building. They were great with the small kids that were there at the same time as me, too. I would highly recommend!“

“I just visited this eyewear store on Saturday and with no real expectations i went to my appointment and left with a Wow experience. The whole crew from the front staff like Manny to the eye doctor they were inviting, pleasant and well knowledgeable. If you need new glasses or eye examination go to this place.“

“We have been coming to McNelis Family Eyecare for a couple of years now. Dr. McNelis is very knowledgable, engaging and kind. Her staff are equally qualified and are very pleasant and helpful.

My husband and I arrived for our 5p appointment and was taken back right away by Ben. Ben was very polite and through with the pre-exam. I appreciate his attention to detail as he took notes of all of our questions/concerns.

The only reason we didn't give 5-stars was the amount of time we had to wait for Dr. McNelis to come in after the pre-exam. After Ben was finished we waited in the exam room for almost an hour. At one point I thought they had forgotten about us and I had to check with the front desk. They said Dr. McNelis was running behind. When she did come in no apologies were offered for the time we had to wait. Though we know some appointments run long and we were the last appointment of the day, we feel that our time wasn't honored. We honored the time of our appointment and showed up on time, and hoped she would do the same, in kind. Someone could've popped their head in to keep us updated or see if we needed/wanted to come back. I have a part time job in the evenings and it set me back a little as we didn't leave until after 7:30p. Also, kind of felt slighted that we were each charged a $5 credit card fee. Our invoice was over $1200 and I felt that charging a customer $5 for using a credit card isn't right. (we were notified ahead of time that this would be charged) Not too many people use checks or have cash on them. And I feel that the hour we waited for the doctor, after our pre-exam was worth more than the $5 we were charged for using a credit card. But, other than the lengthy wait and the credit card fee, I would totally recommend this practice. Dr. McNelis was very through in the questions she asked and took her time with every concern we had. The exam was very detailed and she also went over the eye scan results with each of us. We did not feel rushed and nothing was overlooked.

I also have to give a shout out to Katherine at Dr. McNelis's office. What a gem! After my eye exam she fitted me for new glasses. We chatted and she listened to my concerns. Also, I mentioned to her about my spare pair of glasses that I never wear because they hurt my nose. I have had the cushions adjusted in and out multiple times by other places, but it never helped. I get a headache within 10 minues of wearing them. She offered to replace the cusions with a softer pair than what came with my glasses. It really helped. She's a sweetheart and you'll love her the minute you meet her.“
