I didn’t think that would be too difficult, as there were a lot of hair salons in this area. Unfortunately, I was wrong. I tried 3 different salons, during a 2-year period. Each time, I explained what I wanted, and each time I was told that they could accommodate me. Although I stayed with each salon for several months, they were not able to give me a satisfactory hair stye. Each time, I got tired of wasting my time and money, and looked for another option. Then I found Lynn, at Untangle Hair Studio, in Highland Park! Like other stylists, before she did anything, Lynn discussed with me what I wanted. However, she also managed to find some roots of my original hair color, she considered my skin coloring, and overall appearance, and then suggested that I would look best with a darker shade. She was right, and I really appreciated her wholistic approach. Most important, Lynn was able to give me a style that was exactly what I was looking for! Deckwerks recently completed a new construction of our deck. Every aspect of this project has been seamless and exceeded our expectations. President Ted Benson gave us very complete designs and drawings. Both he and head carpenter Leo uncovered potential issues, and resolved with them with great expertise. Sergio communicated with us continually, and was constantly supervising all aspects of the project. Leo, who is a fine craftsman, and Antonio and their crew were a pleasure to work with. We not would hesitate to hire them again and to very highly recommend them.
2024 kicked off with a basement floor..never fun! We ripped out our carpet, among other things from the damage, and decided to do vinyl floors. A friend who just redid her basement bought her vinyl floors from Carpet Central & Hardwood Flooring so I went there to check out all the options. I brought home a bunch of samples that looked good and facetimed with my decorator (who recently moved to Dallas) to find the best one. They all appeared a bit grey so I returned and brought home so more samples. This time I got it right and had Mike price it out for me. My contractor thought the price was very fair so we decided to move forward. When I checked out the samples I thought in stock meant in Illinois, but it was in the warehouse in Georgia. It took about a week to get to us, which was pretty fast, but I was hoping to start a week earlier. My kids are going a little stir crazy without a basement in the winter! As Mike promised it came in exactly a week after ordering and he worked with my contractor to pick it all up the next day. I did get an invoice that day even though I had paid for the floors a week earlier, but Mike apologized for the mix up. The floors are currently being installed and I look forward to seeing the finished product!

Teshanna came to my home to help do my hair and makeup for a newborn photoshoot I had later that day. She was accommodating by working with my schedule by arriving very early in the morning. She came very well prepared, more than I expected and did a fabulous job as a result of her skills. Along with her supplies (suitcases of hair supplies and makeup) she brought her own makeup chair and ring light. She took a minimum time to set up everything and it was like she brought a whole studio to me. She’s personal, prompt and professional. Absolute miracle workers tbh. Lena in particular is my hero for her ability to tackle my extremely long, extremely thick hair in record time. For context, I'm someone who has had salon workers who've never worked with me before take up to 2 hours on my hair; the stylist I've worked with the most could do my hair in an hour. And then there's Lena: her first time giving my hair a blow-out, it took her about 45 minutes with a bit of back-up. This most recent visit, though? 30 minutes, all on her own. Is she a wizard?? If you're like me and both (1) on a budget and (2) looking for someone who can handle a whole lot of hair, I definitely recommend the Highland Park location! If you likewise have really for real a ton of hair, I'd suggest calling ahead rather than booking online to ensure that they'll have enough time for you, especially on short notice. (Normally every appointment slot is just 30 minutes, but if you communicate with them over the phone you can work out a longer slot.) Or else you could just book with Lena directly, since apparently she's magic! As for BloOuts as a whole: pretty standard blow-dry bar, if you've been to one before. Small but classy space with a bright, airy feel. Not as chi-chi as Dry Bar, which I think is probably the most well known of this type of salon. It feels a bit less luxurious as a result, but the results are just as good and the vibe is more personal.
No appointment necessary but I have had to wait up to 20 minutes. Their new location is larger than the previous one near Metra and tucked off the street. Price and attention can’t be beat when all you want is a good clean haircut.

I have been going to the Barbers for years and have always gotten great haircuts. I’ve tried all of the barbers and they are all great, but Alfredo is my guy. Barbers are always on time, listen to clients, shop is clean and good looking, and location is super convenient. They also make everyone feel very welcomed. I highly recommend this shop for both adults and kids.
Is this the cheapest haircut money can buy? No. And yet, here I am, going to Mauricio every 5 weeks like clockwork for the past 2 years, ever since I moved here. Why? Because the man knows how to cut hair. He's skilled. He's also professional, friendly, clean, timely, and provides a great conversation if needed. He's also patient and a kind person. The salon has specialists for color or cut, and they can recommend someone if you have a particular need or challenge. They also offer skin care (Ellen) and brows as well as makeup (Foti). Both ladies are as delightful as they are talented. Mouna the owner is an absolute doll and her staff has had little turnover in all the years I've been going here - which speaks to a well run biz. Try Yulia for fabulous blond highlights, Yvonne or Vikki for a perfect cut. They also offer a great same day (wash your hair) keratin treatment that lasts for 3-4 months!

Marisol has been doing my lash extensions for the last 6 months or so- she is always right on time, responds to texts within minutes, and has been more than willing to add additional volume in between fills should anything feel off. I switched from lashes to a lash perm and I am thrilled with the results. She takes the time and consideration to recommend what she thinks her clients need based on their individual lashes and even if it’s a lesser service, she will suggest what is right! She is a delight and I’ll continue to see her for years to come!

Don't think I've ever been so impressed with a plumber. Upon first contact Konstantin was here in 20 min. and had me a quote within the hour. I called to confirm the work and he came out and got it done in about an hour. The price was 1/3 that of other quotes and the work was high quality. For context, I grew up in a family of plumbers so I know what good looks like. This plumber is a diamond in the rough - he will be my first call for any future work! Call these guys first for your next plumbing issue.

I have experience in the construction industry as a project manager, so I am familiar with the design/build process.Working on the design and details with *** Shrago was a delight. While we ultimately decided not to go ahead with the construction due to my mother-in-law's health, I would have hire him and his team in a heartbeat. I will list the reason why I would hire *** and his team for any home construction project.1. *** lives in our community and has been building here for well over twenty years. He is well regarded by his competitors.2. He was straightforward with managing customer expectations. He was timely and responsive, brought every member of the trade onsite to ensure they gave accurate estimates for the work.3. He properly priced the entire project. In the construction industry, often time issues are left out of bids in order to secure the work. Contractors will inevitably include change orders as a way of re-capturing costs that were not addressed. The other contractors I solicited bids from did this, and it was clear that the bids were not "apples to apples". *** captured every line item in the process from start to finish and it was refreshing to be presented with an accurate, comprehensive proposal. 4. *** uses proper project management software and shares the process, timelines and cost estimates directly with the client via a web portal. This is the sign of a competent builder. Too many renovation or new construction projects wind up disappointing the client due to a failure to meet deadlines. I had no doubt that our construction would have been carefully tracked and any delays (which are common in construction scheduling) incorporated into the process.Anecdotally, *** built two of our friend's houses and they are extremely happy with his work.

The project leader Alfred was reliable, and the owner Sean delivers on his work. We felt that each day progress was made - it is so unusual to find a company like this! Last year my Chicago dentist of 15 years retired, so I had to google for new one. Meantime we moved to Arlington Heights. I'm glad that I found Dr. Piotrowski! First thing he said to me is that his # 1 priority is my health and to save my teeth. Gradually he had to remove few old bridges and crowns. Inspect under and do necessary work. He did excellent job, because my mouth was a mess. Not an easy task for doctor. My bridges and crowns were at least 10 years old. Last summer he did right side, and everything is holding good! Brad is an amazing chiropractor. I’m an occupational therapist and have seen Brad for many back issues that have come from all of the physical work I endure daily though my profession. He has helped me to feel my best and be able to work to my full potential! So grateful to have Brad as my chiropractor! Highly recommend him to anyone!
Hanes and Kinnel have been taking good care of me for 8+ years. WhenI was short of funds and had no insurance they carried me with a small charge until I was able to get Medicare. Really great treatment from very good people. James has a better grasp of anatomy and physiology than any doctor I've ever had, really brilliant!
Called Canine Coiffure Ltd. and David was able to get my dog in almost immediately. He picked him up and dropped him off. To be quite honest, I have never been so satisfied and grateful. David treated my dog like he was part of the family. Truly a wonderful person and a business that I will continue to support for as long as I can.

We went to Furology because our last dog groomer just couldn't get the haircut right for our dog. They listened to what we wanted and when I came to pick him up , he looked great. Highly recommend!

Licensed and experienced staff offer my favorite: really great Swedish massages with more attention to aging feet. Very clean, and relaxing. Staff is very meticulous about keeping everything very hygienic. Usually busy so walk-ins possible but booking ahead is best. I have been going there since they opened in 2020 and highly recommend to all my friends.
So worth it. We usually pay close to $200 per massage, everyone was booked up, but we needed a nice massage after a long road trip and it was literally worth every single dollar!
I've been intrigued to try this for a few years ago, but finally had an excuse when a friend got me a gift card to here. It was for an hour long foot massage, but being the nice mother than I am I took my 13 year old daughter with me...and we each went for a 30 minute foot massage. The foot massage is paired with a head massage, which didn't really appeal to us so we asked for foot/shoulder. They said no problem. They took us into the backroom filled with several massage beds and there were a few people in there getting massages. Definitely no frills and my daughter looked at me like "mom- where did you take me?" but one they started the massage she relaxed. The hardest part was likely giving up her phone for 30 minutes. You also keep your clothes on for these massages (fortunately since there are other people in the room). My daughter was a little weirded out by the clothes off part for her very first teen massage in the Dominican Republic last winter break so this was preferred. It was a great massage and went by too fast. I thought 30 minutes was good for feet/shoulders, but they do offer more of a full body massage so I'd opt for an hour then. There was a little confusion when we checked out and tried to use our gift card since no one there spoke much English, but once i talked into an app which translated for him we figured it all out...and were on our way. I was happy I had cash on me for the gratuity since he was having trouble understanding when I asked for his venmo. I left feeling relaxed and wondered why it took me so long to get here. My daughter said she'd go back too so perhaps it can be a fun, relaxing mother daughter activity in the future.
If you are looking for the BEST place to do your physical therapy, than go to Ivy Rehab. They are very knowledgeable, kind, and fun! They make physical therapy enjoyable. I have been to many clinics, and this is by far the best. You get the one on one treatment that you deserve. From the second you walk in Cindy greets you with warmth and friendliness. Reena and Abby are wonderful! Thank you for making me feel better! I was sad to graduate.
Dr. J and the team helped me to reconnect with and believe in my body again after 4 years of chronic back, neck, and referral leg pain, as well as several other doctors/treatments. The intake session was thorough; Dr. J made me feel listened to and treated me like an individual, not to mention he's quite funny! His diagnosis and treatment plan were spot on. His staff, Cyprian and David, were excellent to work with. They knew when to push me, always checked in with how each exercise was feeling and appeared to keep detailed notes each session. They're both very friendly and I looked forward to the exercises (and the massages!) each week. Dr. J, David, and Cyprian are very knowledgeable and helped me understand what might trigger a flare up and what specifically to do to treat it. I learned a lot about how to sit, stand, walk, lift, strengthen, and stretch in ways that are beneficial long term. Caroline was great in helping me set up appointments that would work for my schedule and my insurance requirements. Working with North Shore Spinal gave me faith in feeling better and the results I needed to pursue more labor intensive work and enjoy a more physically active life. I would recommend them to anyone dealing with pain. Thank you!!
