He recognized the urgency and instructed me to take very specific action that was backed by explanation to reduce / eliminate any further degradation. The specialist arrived on time and went to work immediately. The specialist made the repairs and also optimized the unit. Jason was of great assistance on a holds eve.“

“Ragan has taken care of our heating, cooling, and plumbing needs for over 20 years. The office staff and schedulers are friendly and efficient, and the field guys are amazing. They check our heating every fall, our AC each spring, and pretty much everything we need in between.Recently, we had trouble with our toilets--as in, for a month, one or both were constantly plugging to the point where we couldn't fix it ourselves (our teenagers are talented in this particular area).Ragan came to our rescue several times, then suggested that we might switch to a more powerful type of commode. They gave us a reasonable quote, and we've been happily flushing ever since.Highly, highly recommended!“

“Bob and his crew are absolutely amazing. I spoke with Bob on a Thursday after being without plumbing for 4 days. I spoke to a few companies prior and had an appointment set for the following Tuesday just to take a look because that was the earliest I thought I could have anyone there. When Bob reached out he said “no, we can be there Friday with the camera to get a look at what we’re dealing with and be back on Monday to start work. This is an emergency”. By Friday mid day he had someone here setting barrels in the front yard to block off the street for when they start work. Bob and Zack were both friendly, caring and very clear on what they were doing throughout the whole process. I will be honest, before this happened, I had never heard of Tappendorf Plumbing but they have a customer for life. “My business has geothermal, which apparently is not a specialty of every HVAC shop. Not surprising, but you'd think that they might be open about it if they are just going to fumble around...Oh, but I don't mean American. They were great! The company I had BEFORE them did the fumbling, charged me for a couple of visits which still left the system only limping along, and then blacklisted me when I had the gall to politely ask to speak to someone about the charges for NOT getting the system working. Never raised my voice. Never said I wouldn't pay. Just wanted to talk to someone about it. Never got the chance. They simply told me I didn't have to pay one of the bills which had accomplished nothing, and didn't share that their choice to do that would have long term ramifications for me as a customer. Again, I didn't actually talk to anyone, other than asking the lady, who answered the phone, if I could speak to someone about the bill.I should get to the good part. I got a recommendation for American Mechanical, and I'm so glad I did. I told them of my A/C problems, AND I told them about my history with this other company. I didn't want there to be any weirdness, and I offered to pay up front and by credit card or check, or whatever they wanted. They seemed genuinely surprised at how the other company handled the situation, but I assume they took my story with a grain of salt, considering they didn't know the other side of it.Anyway, the technician was professional, and he told me of his geothermal qualifications. He came up with plan, executed it, and informed me along the way of his decisions. He described the work to me in a way that made sense, and I always thanked him for it and told him to proceed as he thought fit.I assume some people out there would consider me high maintenance, but I didn't ask for (or demand) this level of transparency. I assume that Devin, the tech, likes to be this open with his customers, or that he chose to do that having heard my story of the previous company. All I know is that I didn't push for all that, but I did appreciate it, especially because of the previous company's work that didn't accomplish a full repair.The system is working great. The bill is paid. I couldn't be happier with the service. Well done, American and Devin. I'd recommend you to anyone and everyone.“

“Excellent service! The A1 in their name says it all. Eric was very knowledgeable. Under our home warranty, we’ve had three different vendors attempt to diagnose our HVAC system issues. Between refrigerant and damper specifications, no one seemed to be able to resolve the matter. Eric diagnosed the issue with a thorough system inspection and determined the cause. We have plans to install the new part immediately. It was only due to my own scheduling conflicts that I was unable to accept their initial repair date.Again, excellent service“
