“I am very happy with my new kitchen, and I have Alex and his team at Kitchen By Design to thank for it. It was by chance I happened upon their store while visiting Sherman Williams next door for exterior paint. I stopped by unannounced and was warmly welcomed. Alex said he would come to my home the following day to take measurements. True to his word, he showed up on time, and within a day or two showed me a layout with a cost estimate that was within my budget, along with outlining the scope of work and writing up a contract. The estimated project time was three and a half weeks. I signed on the bottom line and the work began the following week. Alex was great to work with and was professional, and responsive to any of my questions or concerns. By having a storefront with an assortment of good quality, cabinets, tile, fixtures and fittings to choose from, I felt more comfortable working with Kitchen By Design vs other contractors that showed up at my home in a truck with a tape measure, notepad and a pencil behind one ear. Given I was not able to be on-site the entire time, technology played a huge part in keeping the project on track. Alex kept me up to date with progress. He got input from me when necessary, and the project completed on time. When I walk into my new kitchen, I still can't believe it's finished. “My husband and I hired Rick to do a complete remodel of a 1920s house in Eagle Rock. He did an outstanding job, finished a challenging project on time and on budget (in the middle of a pandemic no less), and was a true professional and pleasure to work with throughout. He creatively and effectively addressed any issues that arose during the project, thought ahead and proposed solutions to issues before we needed to think of them, and for such an extensive and involved project the process was remarkably low stress from our perspective. His subcontractors are also fantastic, and the quality of workmanship in everything from cabinetry to tiling was very apparent. Some background regarding our project: the house had not been updated in decades, and needed everything... new plumbing, electrical, roof, floors, total remodel of two bathrooms and the kitchen, insulation, etc. Before starting on the project, we interviewed several different contractors. Rick's proposal, while not the lowest cost, was by far the most thoughtful and most comprehensive. Rick was also the only person we interviewed who took the time to think about the floor plan of the house and went above and beyond to transform what was a rather illogical floorplan into one that makes much more sense. “Don't look any longer for an excellent electrician. This is as far as you need to go. Joel is absolutely AWSOME! I needed a large ceiling fan installed. Called every electrician in Pasadena, I think. They either couldn't do the job for a month or two, or were so over the top on price, I had to laugh at some of them ( in a nice way). Well, I was lucky. Joel answered my call for help and came out to me the next day ! He was on time, very nice person, very knowledgeable electrician. He knew his stuff, and he completed my job in an hour, and he charged me a VERY reasonable price for everything he did! Oh, and he gave me a wonderful idea for another project I am looking at. I highly recommend JDP ELECTRICAL !! Use him, people. You will be happy you did !!!“

“I had major flooding in my condo, causing a great deal of damage. Haddad was great to work with. Mike, Raymond and John have an awesome team. They wrapped everything up, and caused no additional damage. The guys were incredibly professional and respectful when in my home. I hope I never have an issue like this again, but I'd recommend Haddad Construction for any needs you may have in your home. 5 Stars for sure!“

“It's difficult to find great repair people who know what they are doing and provide excellent value. I was a little hesitant to hire "Harry the Handyman" just because of the name. But I guess you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. I had a wall heater that had been not working properly for many years. Gas company even came to check out and thought it must have had the problem when it was installed eons ago. I gave Harry a call on a Friday and we scheduled an appointment for Monday. To be honest it didn't start off great because the time kept getting pushed back but it had started raining and he was on the other side of town- these things happen. So it's understandable that there might be delays. When Harry showed up he got right to the job- he knew what he was looking for and fixed the problem that had been plaguing this wall heater for years. It took less than 15 minutes. Others were quoting a price of $2000 to install a new one. This wall heater is in a rental apt. When the long time tenant, who had stopped using the wall heater because of the problem, heard the wall heater startup without sounding like it was going to blow out the windows, he said, 'I've never heard that before.' It was a soft sounding ignite. Harry had fixed the problem, making the tenant and owner happy at a very good price. This is one of those business cards you keep!“

“The upstairs shower in our condo blew an interior wall washer in the middle of the night (Saturday on a holiday weekend, of course) and I ended up having to shut down the water main and water heater in my PJs to keep from destroying the house. First thing Sunday morning I called F&M and spoke w their on-call service who then called Mike. I figured I was going to have to have the tile walls torn into and a major repair nightmare was imminent. F&M technician Santiago called me right back and was at my house within 30 minutes. After a very brief evaluation not only did Santiago assure me the fix was was relatively minor one, he had all the parts needed for the repair on his truck. From the time he came to the door until I was writing a check was 45 minutes, tops. I am extremely happy with the level of professionalism and service this company provided and will recommend them to anyone in the Pasadena SGV area. Oustanding in every way!“

“I left a message for Greg and he immediately got back to me. During our home inspection, the inspector noticed some cracks in the foundation of the crawl space as well as some cracks on the fireplace. I sent him the report along with the photos and he assured me that this was very common and nothing to be alarmed about. I very much appreciate that he didn't try to scare me into making immediate and unnecessary repairs. I saved his number so when the time comes, he'll be the first person I call to make the repairs!“
