1615 Oceana Blvd, Pacifica“This is my favorite yoga studio. I have been going here since before Covid-19, and the studio still has maintained the same relaxing and healing atmosphere. Fatima and Jen are my go-to instructors, but any class you take will give you the workout you didn't know you needed. Love it here and will always keep coming back for more yoga sessions!“

“I love love love this studio! It is truly my escape that I use to destress after work and is full of amazing instructors that are both knowledgeable and helpful. They also offer morning workout classes that get me energized for the day. I also love that they provide all of the equipment you could ask for like the basics of mats and blocks to the more extra things like straps, blankets, mat cleaner, etc. It really feels like a community at this studio and I highly recommend!!“

677 Laurel St #200, San Carlos“I dragged my friend along with me to try their 60 min hot26 asana yoga class! We were rushing as class started at 7am and we wanted to ensure we'd make it before the doors locked. We got there just in time and were welcome by Regina! She gave us a quick rundown of the studio. They have nice lockers with keys, a water fountain and showers available. Class began promptly and it was comfortably full. Regina was a very lively and informative instructor. She gave helpful guidance on how to do the forms in class they were doing as they were slightly varied from what I am used to doing. The poses were comfortable and I could feel myself truly feeling zen through every pose.“

175 South Blvd, San Mateo“I have been training with Charles twice a week for 18 months--the results have been extraordinary- a total body transformation. I initially had debilitating back pain and had tried everything from patches and shots to spinal decompression with no relief. Within months of working with Charles, the pain was completely gone. His wide breadth of knowledge on all things fitness is remarkable. I have leg strength for the first time in my life and I am in the best shape of my life. I had never deadlifted a year ago and recently lifted 390 straight bar from the floor. Charles has motivated me get cardio in everyday now, and I truly enjoy each strength training session. I could go on and on- bottom line: priceless training, the highest recommendation!“

I had some must-haves when joining a new gym and this gym met it all. It's super clean, spacious, all the equipment I need. For public access, there are no weekend hours but M-F they're open 5am to 9pm. Bonus, there is also free parking.“

1528 S El Camino Real #200, San Mateo“I took their 60 min Hot PIlates class and it was very challenging with the heat. At this point, I have only done two hot yoga classes also at the same temperature of 105-110 degrees but doing pilates in that level of humidity and heat is a whole other story. The studio is very spacious and I have not sweated so much in my life until this class. I could really feel the heat continue to compound for me at the last 20 mins of class. It provided a good opportunity to keep pushing through and get through every single exercise and rep the new instructor was providing. Lastly, the new instructor was extremely friendly and helpful. She let me know how to improve my form for a few exercises.“

203 Southgate Ave, Daly City“Great yoga studio! The schedule is abundant (there are lots of classes throughout the day during the entire week, much better than most other studios I've been to). The instructors are very good and the owner is very nice and reasonable. The showers/changing area is a bit tight; this could be remedied by having a row of open showers (as opposed to thick wall dividers in between) and knocking down the wall between the sinks and the changing cubes, making for a more open layout.“

“After nearly a year of attending multiple classes per week with many of the instructors, I have only positive things to say. I found myself wanting to return to the studio daily.
The format of the classes, the energy of the instructors, the sense of community, and the convenient logistics all contribute to creating a virtuous cycle for fitness.
Here are some specific observations:
1. Each instructor brings a unique perspective, and in my experience, they complement each other remarkably well.
2. For Pilates: I've had the opportunity to attend several classes with Samara and Akiko. They run sessions that are accessible for newcomers yet challenging for more experienced participants. Their sequencing, modifications, and ability to read and manage the group's energy make them exceptional instructors.
3. For Yoga: The classes I took followed the Bikram sequence, which is fairly consistent. However, each instructor has their own distinctive style, so you're bound to find one who feels just right for you.
4. Logistics: The studio setup is highly convenient, from parking to restrooms, changing rooms, and lockers. With a wide variety of classes at all hours, finding a convenient session is rarely an issue. The only reason not to attend would be if you simply didn't feel like it--not because of availability or scheduling.
5. The community is outstanding. Both the owners, Samara and Sandy, and fellow students are incredibly supportive and always ready to lend a hand.
6. Pricing is also very reasonable, and the cold towels at the end of classes are a fan favorite!
At one point, I sustained an injury (unrelated to ELC). When I spoke with Sam and Sandy, they encouraged me to come in if I felt up to it, which I did. For several weeks, Sam personally assisted me with weights, mats, and towels (I couldn't carry anything myself), while other students helped with my crutches and kept me connected to my practice. I am deeply grateful--and perhaps a bit biased!“
