“Over the past year, my mobility, strength, and endurance have improved tremendously. As I’ve educated myself on effective cardio and toning exercises, it’s clear to me why I feel like an entirely upgraded version of myself. This progress is all thanks to Val and coming to his classes regularly. He has a great way of making exercise fun, which makes it easy to look forward to every session“

“I’m relatively new to taking Pilates classes and I am so lucky to have discovered this jewel in San Carlos. The instructors are very skilled and the atmosphere is welcoming. I was initially shy about starting the classes. Because I wasn’t sure if I was coordinated enough to do it. I felt right at home in these classes. I highly recommend it!“

“YogaSix has become my go-to yoga studio. They offer a great variety of classes, and I've loved being able to mix things up depending on what I'm looking for that day. I've taken Slow Flow, Power Flow, Restore, and Sculpt. Power Flow and Sculpt are definitely more challenging and are great when I'm in the mood for something that feels a bit more like a Pilates-style workout, while Slow Flow and Restore offer a more traditional yoga experience.

One thing I really appreciate is how welcoming and respectful the studio is. The staff are always kind, and the instructors bring such positive energy to every class. Even when classes are full, the studio never feels overcrowded. There's always enough space between me and my neighbors. I'm usually not a fan of heated workouts, but for the heated classes, the temperature here feels very manageable. Unlike some other studios I've tried, I never felt dizzy or nauseous from the heat.

I also love how thoughtful they are about consent and personal preferences. They provide cards that allow you to indicate whether or not you'd like hands-on adjustments from the instructors. At the end of class, instructors ask us to wave if you prefer not to have the scented towel (usually lavender or citrus) waved over you. The instructors also celebrate class milestones and make everyone feel recognized (I got a shout-out after completing my third class!). These small details really show how much they care about creating a comfortable environment for everyone.

Overall, I love the variety of classes, the supportive instructors and staff, the emphasis on consent and comfort, and the cleanliness of the studio. Highly recommend!“

“After nearly a year of attending multiple classes per week with many of the instructors, I have only positive things to say. I found myself wanting to return to the studio daily.
The format of the classes, the energy of the instructors, the sense of community, and the convenient logistics all contribute to creating a virtuous cycle for fitness.

Here are some specific observations:
1. Each instructor brings a unique perspective, and in my experience, they complement each other remarkably well.
2. For Pilates: I've had the opportunity to attend several classes with Samara and Akiko. They run sessions that are accessible for newcomers yet challenging for more experienced participants. Their sequencing, modifications, and ability to read and manage the group's energy make them exceptional instructors.
3. For Yoga: The classes I took followed the Bikram sequence, which is fairly consistent. However, each instructor has their own distinctive style, so you're bound to find one who feels just right for you.
4. Logistics: The studio setup is highly convenient, from parking to restrooms, changing rooms, and lockers. With a wide variety of classes at all hours, finding a convenient session is rarely an issue. The only reason not to attend would be if you simply didn't feel like it--not because of availability or scheduling.
5. The community is outstanding. Both the owners, Samara and Sandy, and fellow students are incredibly supportive and always ready to lend a hand.
6. Pricing is also very reasonable, and the cold towels at the end of classes are a fan favorite!

At one point, I sustained an injury (unrelated to ELC). When I spoke with Sam and Sandy, they encouraged me to come in if I felt up to it, which I did. For several weeks, Sam personally assisted me with weights, mats, and towels (I couldn't carry anything myself), while other students helped with my crutches and kept me connected to my practice. I am deeply grateful--and perhaps a bit biased!“

“Patricia has given one-hour chair yoga classes at Rinconada Library for over two years. She brings experience, knowledge and care, but also joy to her devoted students. Patricia is a delight to work with. I have suggested that she market her chair yoga classes to other libraries so she can spread the joy!“

“I took their 60 min Hot PIlates class and it was very challenging with the heat. At this point, I have only done two hot yoga classes also at the same temperature of 105-110 degrees but doing pilates in that level of humidity and heat is a whole other story. The studio is very spacious and I have not sweated so much in my life until this class. I could really feel the heat continue to compound for me at the last 20 mins of class. It provided a good opportunity to keep pushing through and get through every single exercise and rep the new instructor was providing. Lastly, the new instructor was extremely friendly and helpful. She let me know how to improve my form for a few exercises.“
