They emphasize careful listening, respect, hard work, and humility. We value the way they relate to kids using compassion, humor, and age-appropriate methods yet consistently call on them to focus and follow rules.“

730 NY-304, New City“Renzo Gracie Rockland Jiu-Jitsu is truly an exceptional academy. The professors are absolutely amazing and have an incredible attention to detail. They consistently go above and beyond to make sure every student not only understands the techniques being taught, but is also applying them correctly during class. While students are rolling, the professors are constantly coaching, reminding them of strategies, and helping them sharpen their skills in real time. What truly sets this place apart is how nurturing and genuinely caring the instructors are with the kids. They continuously push them to grow, improve, and build confidence each day in such a positive and encouraging environment. Our boys have been treated like family since the moment they started, and that means everything to us. My husband and I were so inspired that we even decided to start taking classes ourselves, and I’ve already learned so much after just one class. The atmosphere is welcoming, motivating, and filled with passion for the art of jiu-jitsu. I cannot recommend Renzo Gracie Rockland highly enough for anyone looking for top-tier instruction, a supportive community, and an amazing experience for both kids and adults.“

9 North Airmont Road, 2nd Floor Suite #220, Suffern“I cannot say enough wonderful things about NY United BJJ. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed, supported, and part of a community that truly cares. The instructors are not only highly skilled in Jiu-Jitsu and wrestling, but also deeply compassionate and patient, creating an environment where every child, regardless of ability, can thrive.
What makes this facility truly special is its commitment to inclusivity. My son is on the spectrum and the instructors, (all fathers themselves), have been nothing short of amazing. The instructors understand that every child learns differently and tailor their approach to build confidence, discipline, and resilience at a pace that suits each individual. Watching my child gain strength, focus, and self-confidence has been the most rewarding and I'm forever grateful to Khyl, Marty and Al for helping my son develop these attributes.
Beyond the skills learned on the mat, NY United BJJ teaches invaluable life lessons of respect, perseverance, and gratitude. It’s a place where kids feel seen, encouraged, and celebrated for who they are. If you’re looking for a Jiu-Jitsu school that nurtures both skill and heart, this is the place to be.“

“I am a Sensei myself. Recently I had the pleasure of teaching a seminar alongside Mitchell Sensei. All cards on the table, we have known each other for years now, but even so, I thought maybe I would include my comments that I sent to him privately:
“Just wanted to let you know that I think you’re a great instructor, not just a Sensei. Was listening to you as you taught beginners and advanced students during seminars. People at our level can cut just fine but not everyone can actually communicate how to cut to someone of lower rank and even fewer can tailor their advice to the person they are teaching. I consider you in the highest category”
Unsolicited. Sensei Noah Mitchell is my friend, but even among friends there exists professional…courtesy?..but also professional…review. Critique. Criticism.
So, from one “professional” to another, Noah Mitchell Sensei is not only my friend but is Sensei who will bring you to a higher level of swordsmanship. 10/10 highly recommend“
