“My AC broke during the recent heatwave.
When I called I got connected right away, answered a few questions, and Artur was at my house within the hour! He diagnosed and repaired my AC in what felt like 15 minutes. “I had a big company competitor come out and check our AC units as neither were working well. After their inspection, they mentioned our units were old but still functioning. However, they were both low on charge and required R22 (Freon) refrigerant. Unfortunately, production of this was banned in the US and they could not then service the units but could quote a replacement installation. That came in at $23,000.

The next day I called Livonia HVAC. Tarek (I hope I spelled that correctly) said they could certainly charge our systems with R22 and might possibly be out that afternoon. A mid-afternoon call let me know that a prior job ran long and I could expect them to arrive the next day between 8 and 11am.

Tarek showed me the charge condition of each unit and showed me the reading on the scale after each charge since the refrigerant was billed by the pound. He also found a loose valve that was likely the cause of the lost refrigerant in one of the units. He was professional, pleasant to chat with, willing to answer any questions, unhurried and honest. Exactly what you're looking for in a repair technician. I'll be contacting him about full system replacement options at a later date.
