I have been taking my dog Mavis here since she was a puppy. I highly recommend socializing, and prefer this safe environment over dog parks. She absolutely loves it here and comes home completely pupped out lol.
The staff is attentive and friendly. They share pictures every couple hours. Drop off and pick-ups are easy and quick.
The grooming is always Top Notch. Even when playing all day, she doesn't come home smelling like dogs.
They also give out FREE food samples from a partnering company.

“I usually groom my cat at home because she hates unfamiliar places, but her fur became too matted for me to manage safely. The staff handled her very gently and didn’t make me feel guilty about waiting too long to book professional grooming. They removed the mats without shaving huge bald sections, which honestly surprised me. She was definitely annoyed afterward, but much calmer than expected. By the next morning she already seemed more comfortable moving around the house again.“

five stars, I would! My dog has seen Dr. Hanks for a couple years now and he's always been very caring and knowledgeable about her issues. I also brought in a new puppy for a wellness check and the puppy felt instantly comfortable around him and the rest of the vet techs. Their pricing is also very transparent and fair. “We’ve been to Mo multiple times, and he has always been incredibly gentle with my dog and given her some of the prettiest cuts she’s ever had, which is why I trusted him so much.

Unfortunately, this last time her hair was cut really short without me realizing that was going to happen. I was there when she was finished, but it took me a little time to process how drastic the change was. Once I got home, it honestly broke my heart. My fluffy little Yorkie now looks naked and very boy-like. I really love the specific look of the breed and have always tried to keep her fluffy, Yorkie appearance, so this was especially upsetting.

What makes it harder for me to understand is that she wasn’t matted, and she is a very calm dog during grooming. She needed a bath and some hygienic trimming, but I don’t understand why her entire body had to be taken this short without discussing it with me first. Now it will take months for her coat to grow back. Every time I look at her now I feel so sad

The cut itself is clean, so my issue isn’t the technical quality of the grooming. I just wish such a major change had been communicated beforehand.

I’d still trust Mo to be gentle and caring with a pup, but if you have a long-coated breed or care about preserving a specific breed look, I’d be extremely clear about the length you want left and confirm it more than once beforehand.“

“Professional. It was busy because it was a Saturday. A few emergency last minute add ons. The communication was clear that they were busy and I did not feel neglected nor did our appointment time run too long. We were still in and out within about 45 minutes for a vet tech visit to get vaccinations for my dog. Shelley, Manny, & Dr. Wilcox are friendly, professional, & knowledgeable. Thank you all. Congratulations on the new clinic/hospital. It is beautiful!“

After my cat went over the bridge, I was petless until recently when I adopted a lovely male labradoodle. True to the great service I received previously with my cat, they welcomed Doc with great service and many scratches. Still a great vet hospital, and Dr. G is still the best.

I was referred to BVH when my previous vet's office closed, and I couldn't be more pleased. Everything is explained in detail, and the Dr. my cat sees is great with cats. Mine is a brat, but Dr. Gunderson is able to calm her right down. She is thorough and informative, and very interested in the well being of her furry patients. The fact that she has a number of her own cats helps, I'm sure. Very impressed with both the care and the ease with which I can schedule an appointment. Thanks BVH staff.“

“I've never used a DIY self-service dog washing station before, and I didn't quite know what to expect. It's outdoors, on the patio, and it's open 24 hours a day. I was skeptical about that at first, but I can see now that their location makes that very possible. There's a series of gates you go through, and 4 separate wash stations (each with their own gated area). Roxy was hesitant to get in at first, but did great once I got her settled. I was also worried about the amount of time. Roxy is a 60lb long-haired doodle, and I wasn't sure 15 minutes would be enough. It was MORE than enough! I was moving quickly, and I think next time I'll slow down and take my time a bit. We used all the steps: shampoo, rinse, flea treatment, rinse, conditioner, rinse, blow dry. After I got her out of the wash station, I used the free 30 seconds of sanitizer spray for the next person. It's also more than enough time to spray down any dog hair from the walls and floor, while sanitizing the entire area. The blow drier didn't get her ALL the way dry... she's a big girl with lots of hair. But it was really powerful and got her most of the way dry; dry enough for the car ride home. I also love the location. From OB Dog Beach or Fiesta Island, this is right on the way home for anyone in Bay Park or Clairemont. I'm never washing my dog in the driveway again. DoggoWash for life!“

“We love Jamie and Karla! I’ve been looking for a groomer for my two doodles that’s closer to me and has reasonable prices. As doodles owners may know - some salons are sometimes not the friendliest towards doodles, but Karla and Jamie are professional, understanding and AWESOME at what they do.

They create a comfortable environment for the girls and are always so sweet. I usually give them a full groom every 3 months ( we’re not afraid to go short because we’re active girls) they do an incredible job and the grow out is sooo cute!“
