“I’ve been grooming my dog Chewie (6 years old) myself since he was a puppy, and I’m very picky about who I trust with him. He’s a 21 lb pug–poodle mix and recently developed some matting and stubborn beach tar between his paw pads that I just could not safely remove on my own because he’s extremely sensitive in that area and was not very cooperative.

Garrett and his team at La Jolla Grooming Company handled the situation beautifully. They showed real skill and technique not only with the grooming itself, but also in how they kept Chewie calm, comfortable, and happy throughout the process. In about 20 minutes, Garrett managed to get everything cleaned up, and the best part was that Chewie came out relaxed, wagging, and in great spirits.

What really impressed me was Chewie’s reaction afterward: he kept trying to go back into the salon, which to me is the clearest sign that dogs are treated gently and respectfully during grooming. Garrett truly has a “dog whisperer” touch, and I will absolutely be returning for any future grooming needs and recommending him and La Jolla Grooming Company to other dog parents.“

“Mo is absolutely amazing with both of our dogs. One of them is a senior who hates getting her nails done and the other is special needs and can get anxious, but Mo always takes extra good care of them and makes sure they feel safe and comfortable.

I also love that he only takes one dog at a time so they never have to sit around and wait. His prices are very affordable and he is always so quick without ever rushing the care.

The communication was clear that they were busy and I did not feel neglected nor did our appointment time run too long. We were still in and out within about 45 minutes for a vet tech visit to get vaccinations for my dog. Shelley, Manny, & Dr. Wilcox are friendly, professional, & knowledgeable. Thank you all. After my cat went over the bridge, I was petless until recently when I adopted a lovely male labradoodle. True to the great service I received previously with my cat, they welcomed Doc with great service and many scratches. Still a great vet hospital, and Dr. G is still the best.

I was referred to BVH when my previous vet's office closed, and I couldn't be more pleased. Everything is explained in detail, and the Dr. my cat sees is great with cats. Mine is a brat, but Dr. Gunderson is able to calm her right down. She is thorough and informative, and very interested in the well being of her furry patients. The fact that she has a number of her own cats helps, I'm sure. Very impressed with both the care and the ease with which I can schedule an appointment. Thanks BVH staff.“

“Yesterday was my first time using Doggo wash down by Mission Bay. It was nice to see four separate stalls, along with small enclosed areas for the dogs. The price was a little high for a do it yourself wash, but the machine I used worked fine. Very handy following a visit to fiesta Island.“
