I want to especially recognize Dr. Ian MacEwan, who I truly believe saved my life. Before even scheduling my treatment, Dr. McEwan took the time to personally review all of my medical records. He double-checked not just the reports, but the actual images and tests from two major hospitals, Kaiser and Stanford, and caught something both had missed: that the cancer had spread to my internal mammary gland. His diligence, expertise, and refusal to take anything at face value changed the course of my treatment and my future.
Beyond his incredible clinical skill, Dr. MacEwan is also one of the most genuine and compassionate physicians I’ve ever met. He made me feel seen and heard at every appointment, checked in on how I was doing emotionally, and even encouraged me to find moments of joy during a very difficult time. He took the time to explain potential side effects and what to expect so that nothing came as a surprise. When my insurance declined to cover the treatment, Dr. MacEwan filed a grievance. The very next day, they overturned their decision and covered it! And when billing issues arose weeks after my treatment ended, he personally intervened. The issues were resolved within days. His dedication to his patients goes far beyond the treatment room.

I also want to highlight Kim on the treatment team, she is an absolute light. Her warmth, energy, and kindness made such a difference during my 28 treatment sessions. Every time I saw her smiling face, I knew it was going to be a good day. She radiates positivity, compassion, and genuine care for every patient who walks through the door.

The back office staff were efficient, professional, and always welcoming, they made the logistics smooth so I could focus on healing. “Clarissa Chan was amazing. As someone who works in the medical field I was amazed at her knowledge and how thorough she was. In my experience, I am yet to meet a provider who was so passionate and wasn’t just about curing the issue but focused on offensive medicine and how to avoid medical issues. Her customer service was legit. She also didn’t tell me what I wanted to hear she gave it to me straight but in a way that was motivating. I went in for a number of issues including a thyroid goiter, hypertension, and something in my eye. She was able to help with everything and got my referrals to specialist very fast and was uploaded in my chart immediately. Very impressed I highly recommend her to anyone that is in search of a PCP. “Beautiful facility, but on when you are on Medicare, you still need in-peron visits to your primary MD in order to get referrals to specialists. All I wanted to do was make an appointment with a gastroenterologist to establish care and seek another opinion of a current GI problem. I hoped to have a gastroenterologist closer to home. It seemed simple enough. Instead I was told by the specialist's office that I needed a referral from my primary care MD. I messaged my primary care MD to request a referral and stated the reasons why. Instead, I received an message to first make an in-person appointment with my primary care MD. (Are they kidding?) I called my primary care MD's office and was told that it is standard practice at SHARP to force patients to have visits with their primary care doctors before a referral is granted. I explained that I have MD-inflicted disabilities that severely restrict when I can do things, and that if I have to make a primary-care-MD appointment every single time I need a referral to a specialist, I will have to stop seeing SHARP/Sharp Rees-Stealy specialists and take my care elsewhere. Life has to be about more than constantly going to doctors when it isn't even needed as some rote matter of protocol. Maybe it is some presumed way for them to save money---if the primary care MD can solve the problem, then no need for a specialist. I don't know. Otherwise, I have been happy with my primary care MD. (Scripps is NOT like this, and I wish SHARP/Sharp Rees-Stealy would take Scripps' lead on this matter of protocol.)“

He was professional, personable, knowledgeable, and attentive. He was very honest and upfront about the time it could take to receive the deliverables.
