“I have been going to Josie for my hair cut, perm, and care for the past 3 years. She is very knowledgeable on hair texture and properties, and knows how to keep your hair looking great while keeping it healthy. She also has a keen eye of what type of hair cut and styling fits your face and personality. She takes her time during perm and cut, and takes extra steps to protect hair during perming. Her rate is in par with commercial hair salons but the quality of service and end result is much superior. I hope the Covid can pass soon so we can visit Josie soon.“

Marissa had availability and the rest is history. She even cut my 3 yo daughter's hair one appointment, which is a miracle as she never lets anyone near her hair. She's the sweetest and such a pro, very communicative and takes feedback. Such a rarity to see a business owned by a young woman in such a sleepy part of Palo Alto. I found her through a referral from a woman who passed me on the sidewalk on California Ave; she had curly hair and the perfect haircut, so I stopped her and asked where she goes....at that time (2007 or so), Claudia was at Aveda, and when that shop closed she moved over to Jonathan David. “I have waist-length blonde hair and braiding it before going to Burning Man has been essential to keep it manageable and avoid damage from all the dust and dryness when out there for over a week. Saye has been braiding my hair for 3 years, and she does fantastic work. She's communicative and works with you to figure out the right style for your hair. I'm always thrilled with how great my hair looks after she's done and braids stay looking perfect all week! If you're going in the last few weeks of August, make sure to call in advance since she gets completely booked out!“

“WOW I literally owe Debbie my life!! I came in with a haircut from hell I got that morning from a different salon and Debbie was so kind to squeeze me in last minute to fix it. She clearly knew what she was doing and was extremely assuring. She explained her plan to me very clearly and she is a genius! My previous haircut had tons of holes and uneven choppy layers and Debbie recognized that by changing my part she could cover some of the holes and cut it to even it out perfectly! My words don't do her work justice please look at my before and after pics to see how she took a haircut that the previous salon told me was "unfixable" and created a beautiful style!“

The atmosphere is relaxing, Arlene is friendly, and I can tell how talented she is because my hair comes out totally different with her. It’s clearly higher quality, and since I started buying my shampoo/conditioner from True Salon too my hair has been AMAZING, even as I start to turn gray!“

She’s meticulous and makes sure the length and layers are even, even when it’s very busy. Prices are so low and I hope they stay in business a long time so I can come back. (She’s very busy since she manages everything herself with no front desk receptionist, which is probably why prices can be so low, so if you are understanding and patient about that, it’s so worth it and the best place I recommend)“
