“I can’t say enough great things about Dr. Deutscher. She is one of the few doctors I’ve met who truly cares about your well-being and not just about running a business. She takes the time to listen, explain things clearly, and make sure you’re actually getting the care you need.

A couple of years ago I had two cornea transplants, and ever since then I’ve struggled with severe dry eyes and other complications. My eyes were constantly itchy, irritated, burning, and red. It was honestly exhausting dealing with it every day.

After seeing Dr. Deutscher, she recommended trying a treatment called Biovance/Prokera to help treat dry eye and corneal damage. We started with my left eye since it was worse than my right. It’s been about a month now and I can honestly say I see and feel a huge difference. The urge to constantly rub my eyes is gone, and the burning, redness, and irritation I used to deal with daily has improved so much.

She also recommended Pataday eye drops, which have been a total game changer for me as well.

I’m really grateful I found this office and had the chance to be treated by Dr. Deutscher. She’s knowledgeable, compassionate, and genuinely wants her patients to feel better. I’m planning to come back to have my right eye treated as well—I just can’t take more days off work right now—but I definitely plan to get it done before the summer starts.

“Ellen and Creig were incredibly kind and helpful in guiding me through my selection of new frames and replacement lenses. All questions answered. Adjustments to my old frames, superb. At no point did I feel they were trying to upsell me on anything. All the frames I tried on were top-quality, and again there was no upsell during either the frame-picking or the lens-picking phase; just an informative review of the different options and whether they seemed to fit my needs. There was an adjustment that needed to be made to the replacement lenses at first, and they did this for free in a timely way. The store has a special Zeiss machine that measures angles for glasses faster and more accurately than most machines. The store also has, in addition to high-quality traditional frames from brands like Lindberg or Masunaga, AI glasses that support prescription lenses. In each visit, the staff offered me complimentary cleaning supplies. On some visits, they also offered champagne, coffee, and even cake! By far the best hospitality and quality of any optical store I’ve ever visited. I’ll be a customer for as long as I live in NYC.“

I'll be honest... for my first pair of progressives I first went to Empire Visionworks and it was a subpar and negative experience through every level of the process - my advice... never go to a mediocre vision shop for progressives.

I did tons of research about the quality of lenses through to the quality of frames. Also I didn't trust my prescription from Empire Visionworks because they rushed through the process and nobody seemed to care... beyond that, the doctor was rude and impatient. And sure enough - my prescription was noticeably different from Eye Q... Care matters!

I'm happy to say my search, research and quest led me to Eye Q. I knew that I needed a curated and high quality experience across the board with people who care and take my vision to be as important as I do. The experience was exactly that and top notch on every level. It's important to note that the frames available at Eye Q are on another level than most shops as well and this also makes a massive difference. The optician basically chose all my favorite frames in the shop to try before I even told her what my style was. And she makes sure they are good for housing progressives...

I went to Eye Q in the end partly because my sister uses them in Manhattan. She also had a great experience. This is what eye care should be and is... a highly sensitive and curated experience catered to personal needs with patience and support through every step of the process. And on top of it all they take my insurance.
