“Doctor Gao is a terrific doctor: he listens to you and helps you understand the issue you're dealing with patiently and with great articulation. His treatments (acupuncture and physical therapy) are productive and he and his staff will alter the programming based on how much time you have to spend on rehabilitation that day. It's a cozy office with a warm staff (not a physical fitness facility) where you go through your routine with constant oversight, progressing (or slowing down) depending on how your ailment is responding. The team really cares about you as an individual, where other PT facilities might be bigger with more personnel and available appointments, but you're going to be hard pressed to find a doctor more attentive or involved in your recovery. If you have a lingering injury, try Doctor Gao!“

Today, I had a heartfelt experience at Wellness Physical Therapy in 400 Sylvan Avenue, 2nd Fl, Englewood Cliffs, NJ. After going through a traumatic life event last year, I’ve been dealing with severe neck and shoulder pain likely due to stress. A friend recommended this clinic, so I walked in for a consultation with my UnitedHealthcare insurance.

The clinic is conveniently located, beautifully designed, and incredibly clean—more like a high-end spa than a typical PT office. The staff was welcoming, and I met Dr. Kevin Kim, who took the time to evaluate my condition.

I learned something frustrating: my insurance has a very high deductible, and I would need to pay out-of-pocket for possibly over 40 sessions ($175 each) before coverage even starts. I was visibly disappointed, exhausted, and in pain.

Dr. Kim saw how I was feeling and said, “Since you’re here, let’s take care of you today.” And he offered me treatment completely free of charge, just out of compassion.

I insisted on paying, even tried to leave a $50 specialist copay—but he gently refused. The female physical therapist was skilled, caring, and explained my condition clearly. She also kept checking in during treatment to make sure I was comfortable.

In a world that often feels driven by profit, this healthcare team leads with heart, empathy, and generosity. Who does that these days?

I left feeling lighter—not just physically, but emotionally. If I can find another in-network clinic, I probably will try it—but honestly, I would gladly return to Wellness PT and pay out-of-pocket because of the care I received here today.

“I cannot say enough good things about Motion New City. After 2 major spine surgeries, I could hardly walk. The pain was extreme. I was at square 1 and worried about not getting much better. “I wanted to wait a few weeks before writing a review of this clinic. All I can say is that from the minute I called for an appointment, the entire staff has been so warm and friendly that I hope to never use another PT/OT clinic in my life!....I'm a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant and ruptured my quad tendon from my patella two months ago and I did quite a lot of research to find a qualified clinic to help me recover from such a devastating injury. My experience has been more than I had hoped for......My initial evaluation took place in a private room where I met Jeremy (Physical Therapist) who did everything correctly from his introduction to taking proper measurements. Jeremy has followed the surgeon's rehab protocol to the letter and is moving me through the process slowly and methodically. The rehab aides are always nice and friendly as they set you up for the next exercise or activity....This is a wonderful clinic in a nice part of town with friendly patients who are quick with a joke or supporting words. I'm really happy to have found this clinic. The whole experience has been wonderful and it all starts with the front desk.....Trust me when I say this, you will never find a kinder front desk staff in any office and that vibe just carries through the entire clinic. If you're considering this clinic, you can't go wrong if you decide on getting treated there and this is coming from a certified and licensed medical professional.“

“I recommend Abby extremely highly as she has significantly changed my life. She evaluated my movement patterns and gave me a series of exercises that worked on previously neglected muscles and muscular connections and brought my body back into alignment. This alleviated my pain and muscular issues because by building up/causing the correct muscles to work, the muscles and parts of my body that I had always been compensating with could relax and function normally (rather than always being tight/painful). She essentially remodeled my body from head to toe through various targeted exercises that progressed to full body exercises. When I first went to Abby, I had hurt myself quite badly and was worried I would always have to deal with persistent muscle issues. Now, when I move I feel fluid and discomfort-free -- I feel better about my body now than I ever did before I hurt myself which is incredible given where I was when I first saw Abby. I have referred family members to Abby (2 others are working with her now), and I sincerely wish I had found her 10 years ago and fixed my movement patterns then. Abby has an incredible wealth of knowledge, either if you are a high level athlete or are struggling with pain/issues in daily life -- both of which I have been at times. She is outstanding.“
