1861 Springfield Ave A, Maplewood“I came here for the Drawing on Intuition and Intention workshop instructed by Suman Patnaik. This was my first time at Shakti Yoga & Living Arts and let me just say it definitely will not be my last. The workshop that was led by Suman was great and peaceful. The studio is clean and the atmosphere of Shakti yoga is great. I recommend taking any workshop led by Suman Patnaik but I’m pretty sure any of the workshops held at Shakti Yoga & Living Arts would be great. I’m hoping to return for sure because it was worth!“

347 Lincoln Ave E, Cranford“This is the second time this year I’ve come in with a stiff neck — whether from yoga, sleeping wrong, or possibly even a limp hotel pillow — and once again she worked her magic. I walked in barely able to turn my neck to one side, and left with real relief and much better mobility. I’m so grateful for the care, skill, and attention she puts into every session. She consistently helps me heal and get back to normal so quickly. Highly recommend!“

170 E Hanover Ave, Morristown“I can't say enough great things about Club Pilates and the wonderful team of instructors who make every class such a positive, motivating experience. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed by the warm atmosphere and the friendly staff. What really sets this place apart, though, is the incredible team of instructors. Each instructor is not only skilled but genuinely cares about helping you improve. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned pro, they always take the time to make sure you're getting the most out of every class. Valaire and Megan stand out as two of the most exceptional instructors I've had the pleasure of working with. Their knowledge, patience, and personalized approach to teaching really make a difference. They take the time to understand each participant’s unique needs and abilities and adapt exercises accordingly, ensuring that everyone can get the most from each session.
What really impresses me about the entire team is their positive, can-do attitude. They create an environment where you feel encouraged and supported to challenge yourself while also ensuring you never feel overwhelmed. The energy in each class is great, and you can tell the instructors are passionate about what they do. It's clear that Club Pilates has really found their dream team of instructors. Every class feels like a collaboration between the team and the students, and it’s so much more than just a workout — it's a community where you can feel both motivated and relaxed.
Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to get stronger, more flexible, or just feel better in their body. You’ll leave each class feeling like you’ve truly achieved something — and ready to come back for more! ?“

Enter through Ono Bowls, 107 Quimby St, Westfield“This is not your average yoga studio. It is an incredibly special place to come to relax and recharge. The owner Carmen provides private and group special needs classes for all ages in addition to her daily regular classes. She is an approved DDD vendor for young adults 21+ (if you know, you know).
My son and many of his friends take the special needs classes but they are always welcome in the general classes too. My adult son was welcomed in the Friday night Happy Hour class for the past 2 years in addition to taking his private individual classes.
This is a gorgeous, quiet sanctuary next to Ono Bowls in Westfield NJ. After class it's great to gather and have a fresh made smoothie or bowl without going outside to another place. I HIGHLY recommend Brassy Buddha Yoga“

53 Main St, Madison“I love Club Pilates Madison! Their instructors are high quality and they have a variety of styles so you can get good variety out of your membership and different levels of classes and difficulty. They have been very accommodating and responsive when I had to pause my membership for a brief period due to a health issue and when any other issues came up. The instructors are pretty good about giving alternatives if you are not able to do something and allowing the class to be personalized if you have any specific body issues where you can't do something. I personally recommend getting an unlimited membership because you get to sign up for classes earlier and the spots can fill up fast. When I had an 8x a month membership, it was harder to get a spot in the classes but the waitlists for classes do move.“

385 Saint Georges Avenue # B, Rahway“When my parents were looking for an aftercare to place me in, they found Tigers Martial Arts Academy. There, I learned the basics of taekwondo such as poomsae, sparring, and power kicks along with life lessons such as discipline, focus, perseverance, and patience. Through rigorous training from my instructors, I reached the first and second degree black belt. Currently, I teach younger students and contribute to the taekwondo community. I will continue taekwondo because success in taekwondo is a journey, not a destination.“

235 E Broad St #1, Westfield“Satsang Yoga has the highest caliber teachers. Each is different yet there is a consistency in strong knowledge and exceptional teaching skills. It's wonderful to have a variety of choices when looking for a class. I'm always assured that I will be attending a well planned and thought out class. I am confident that my safety is considered and I can be as challenged in a class as I want. Students can find what they need no matter their level. The owners are also lovely and eager to help you start your yoga journey or expand an existing practice. I feel so fortunate to have this studio and yoga family, as I've been attending for over 15 years.“

1624 St Georges Ave, Avenel“Went out of my way to try this LA Fitness out. The one closest to my house is just awful, and if I can avoid going to that one, I try to.
The outward appearance of this one wasn’t that nice but inside it is one of the nicer ones I have seen. Most LA Fitnesses have the same layout but this one was different and I like it. They have a separate section for the DB rack, benches, and other racks; then machines and cables are on the main floor. Really nice, very spacious and spread out.
It was a pull day so back and biceps. I liked the cable pulldowns kind of being separated from the main section of equipment. Others sometimes have it with that equipment making it crowded. The seated cable row machine was a two cable, two stack version and those are the worst. They just don’t get a full contraction due to having to be hooked together to do rows - great for unilateral work.
Like most gyms in this area, people don’t re-rack plates and weight, and stuff is constantly in the wrong place. That is annoying, but I have come to realize (since moving here) that this is every gym in this area. Then some people here lack gym etiquette, standing and having group conversations at machines and over equipment - it’s fine if it is during a rest period or something, but there were some who stood for five minutes talking before moving to the next machine without doing another set…. Not really the gyms fault.
Glad this one had additional calf machines aside from seated calf raise. Wish LA Fitness would get some more variety. Did a ten minute run after for some cardio threshold training, had to move three times before finding a treadmill that didn’t have issues. The first didn’t incline, had an error. The second, inclined but when I started running the belt kept snagging on something almost tripping me. So some maintenance on the machines might be needed.
The locker rooms were nice, compared to other LA Fitnesses this one was actually cleaner. And this is the first one I have been to that when I walked out the front desk told me to have a good day…. That is a rarity out here.“

127 Whittlesey Avenue, West Orange“I’ve been training here for over a year and can’t recommend it enough. The community is incredibly welcoming and supportive, and I’ve made what truly feel like lifelong friends. The practice blends movement, musicality, awareness, and presence in a way that goes far beyond fitness. Mestre Gaivota and the instructors are deeply caring and thoughtful. A true gem in the area for all ages and fitness levels. Looking forward to training here for years to come.“
