This place is the home of a such a lively community. ABCCNJ has taught me so many things, and not just capoeira. It has given me so much history about the art of capoeira and has helped me find so many friends. Mestre Gaivota, is incredibly knowledgeable in the art and he passes down what he knows to his students. He is attentive and is also funny to learn from and he always makes sure that you are included in the community. He is very supportive and only wants you to grow. I've visited many capoeira schools in New Jersey and this is by far the best capoeira experience I've had in the area. If you are looking to get started with a friendly group and teacher, I highly recommend this place.

Afro Brazilian Cultural Center of New Jersey is a great place to learn Capoeira, Zumba, Samba, Yoga, etc and this place is welcoming to anyone of all-age. The classes at the academy are engaging, fun, exciting, and you won't be able to stop learning AND playing. Plus, the environment is very friendly and the teachers are professionals; you can learn a great deal of skills, lessons, and activities from these guys. I have spent my time training with my capoeira teachers and students and I can tell that you won't be disappointed. Highly recommended to anyone!
