“EDIT: I’m updating my rating from 2/5 stars to 4/5 stars due to the diligence on Ms. Renee and the staff at Affordable Optics. As I mentioned before, the women in this office have been nothing but kind to me, even when I sometimes let my frustrations get the best of me. They were honest and as helpful as they could be. They comped another pair of glasses for me (beautiful by the way), as well as a supply of contact lenses.

I really appreciate everything they’ve done and the fact that they didn’t let me slip through the cracks ♥️

I just sat on hold the entirety of my lunch break (over 30 minutes) waiting to follow up on a pair of glasses I ordered June 4th. Today is August 22nd. According to them it’s the labs fault. Honestly though, it doesn’t matter who’s at fault. I can’t see and I really am in need of glasses. I asked for a refund for the glasses at the beginning of August, since it had been two months already, and Affordable Optics basically said they didn’t think it was fair to issue a refund if they didn’t do anything wrong. We went back and forth for about 15 minutes that day.

Well, that was 3 weeks ago. Today I give 2 stars because I can’t overlook the fact that everyone in the office is pleasant and kind, but no one takes accountability for the shortcomings of their processes. Somehow, they find a way to make this long wait for my glasses my fault or the labs fault.

There is a BIG opportunity for improvement with their organization, communication, and accountability.“

“I'm not sure that this diagnosis and testing for eye glasses using teleconference is an effective way to do an eye exam. My first glasses were measured incorrect for reading. I had to have them redone.“

I have been to many optometry offices throughout the years, and most appointments felt like every interaction and decision was a check off a standard list. The staff here was welcoming, and the office was clean. The office is located inside Costco, but you do not need a membership to make your appointment. I told the Costco front check-in I had an appointment, and they pointed me in the right direction. The receptionist checked me in quickly, and the wait time was quick. Dr. Julie was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and thorough. She made the entire process comfortable and easy, and I appreciate how she explained everything to me. “My 2 year old's pediatrician referred him here to see if his astigmatism requires treatment. Dr. Avallone and Emma were amazing! They did a really great job with his exam (both keeping him focused and explaining the findings/recommendations to me). The front desk staff was very friendly and there were toys to play with and coloring books etc. highly recommend if your child needs an opthalmologist.“
