“Exceptional experience – thorough, patient, and classy environment I had my eye check-up today at Clarity Eyecare, and I can’t recommend them enough. First, kudos to Dr. Howai Chan. She explained every single piece of information thoroughly and answered all my questions in a way that actually made sense. She made sure I was comfortable throughout, and I never felt rushed – my whole check-up lasted an hour, and she walked me through each step. She even gave practical examples and suggestions on how to properly take care of my eyes. I also want to shout out the front desk/reception. My appointment was at 4 PM, but I arrived at 3:30 PM and they accommodated me right away. Lisa was incredibly patient with me while choosing frames. She helped me pick the best size and color for my face, and she even shared her own experience, which really helped me make up my mind. Everything was smooth and pleasant. The vibe of the place is classy and modern – I genuinely enjoyed being there. Highly recommend!“

“I had my lasik done in October 2025. I had a great experience. I went to LASIK Plus because my insurance paid towards it - I was nervous on the service I would receive. However it was great! Helpful consultation and Dr Ryan Roberts reassured my concerns. He even called me personally at home. He allowed me to make an informed decision for lasik vs PRK. I made an appointment 2 weeks after my consultation. I was anxious but Dr Roberts was very comforting. My previous prescription was -11 or so. I had severe myopia and astigmatism. I was 20/40 one week after my procedure. 4 months later and after healing my optician said I am -0.05. I am very happy.“

“I went to my appointment and the doctor and staff were nice. Then the billing department did not run my appointment through my insurance and kept trying to Bill me $550. I called them to speak to them about it, and the person that I talked to said that they would take care of it. I then received another bill for $550. That happened five times and they kept telling me that I couldn't get my lenses until I paid $550. I called my insurance and they said that they do cover my lenses and appointment. I kept having the same issue over and over again, and that was in October. It is now January. Natoya called me and solved the whole problem for me and told me that my lenses were in and paid for by my insurance company. She worked really hard to fit me in and get me an appointment right away. I came in and got my lenses. They are great the doctor was nice and knowledgeable.
Natoya is amazing. I had planned on never coming here again because of all of the ridiculous drama with the billing department, but Natoya and the doctor that I saw completely made up for it. Natoya went above and beyond for me. She is amazing. Thank you Natoya. You are the reason why I will be coming back to the Lutherville location.“

“EDIT: I’m updating my rating from 2/5 stars to 4/5 stars due to the diligence on Ms. Renee and the staff at Affordable Optics. As I mentioned before, the women in this office have been nothing but kind to me, even when I sometimes let my frustrations get the best of me. They were honest and as helpful as they could be. They comped another pair of glasses for me (beautiful by the way), as well as a supply of contact lenses.

I really appreciate everything they’ve done and the fact that they didn’t let me slip through the cracks ♥️

I just sat on hold the entirety of my lunch break (over 30 minutes) waiting to follow up on a pair of glasses I ordered June 4th. Today is August 22nd. According to them it’s the labs fault. Honestly though, it doesn’t matter who’s at fault. I can’t see and I really am in need of glasses. I asked for a refund for the glasses at the beginning of August, since it had been two months already, and Affordable Optics basically said they didn’t think it was fair to issue a refund if they didn’t do anything wrong. We went back and forth for about 15 minutes that day.

Well, that was 3 weeks ago. Today I give 2 stars because I can’t overlook the fact that everyone in the office is pleasant and kind, but no one takes accountability for the shortcomings of their processes. Somehow, they find a way to make this long wait for my glasses my fault or the labs fault.

There is a BIG opportunity for improvement with their organization, communication, and accountability.“

“Alex knows his business. He doesn't sell cheap frames or cheap lenses. He is bluntly honest. If you can't deal with it don't shop here. He knows what frames will fit the shape of your face, the width of nasal bridge etc. I've been coming here for 10 years and won't go anywhere else. Lenses are extremely high quality. If you want stuff cheap don't come here. You get what you pay for. I no longer live in Maryland but I still come back here yearly to get my new glasses.“

“I originally went to the location to get my son's glasses adjusted which I had ordered online. My daughter's glasses hadn't come in so I inquired if there was a reason for the delay. One of the workers there, named INDIA, immediately jumped on the case, called customer service and found out that the frames were out of stock. She then worked with customer service to find a similar frame in stock, cleared that with me, and negotiated expedited shipping as well as got me a 15% discount for the trouble and lack of communication from the online side. This type of proactive customer service is a rare find and I definitely appreciated India's initiative, positive attitude, and advocacy.“

“I saw Dr Azman a couple years ago as I was suffering from severe dry eyes and having issues with past corneal neovascularization in my right eye. He is a fantastic eye doctor. Not only is he compassionate, but he is very thorough in treating complex issues. He treated my dry eyes and recommended a long term solution: scleral contact lenses (a complex process). We went through the process together and every step of the way, he made sure I was comfortable -and most importantly, my eyes were ok. I don't see him anymore as I had cataract surgery (and live far away) but I recommend him to anyone with or without eye issues. He is one of the best eye doctors I have ever seen. I still think of him often which is why I decided to finally write this review (even though it has been some time) since I have seen him.“
