In July of 2021, we called and they (Matt) came out when my upstairs unit wasn’t blowing cold. Matt inspected it and we collectively agreed, it was time to replace. The unit itself was 17 years old and was well beyond its serviceable life. Bernie’s team worked quickly to get that entire unit replaced at the time. After they installed it Dom came out the day after the install, to ensure it was still operating properly and also ensure my satisfaction with their service. I have had zero issues with the upstairs unit in the last 3 1/2 years and it certainly is way more efficient than the original builder installed unit was.
Here I am now in 2025 and now the downstairs unit has reached its 22 year end of life in the bitter cold we have had, including snowy weather that rocked the south. I didn’t even question whom to call, it’s gotta be Comfort Air. We called on Monday because I was pretty sure the unit was done for. Will & Jackson arrived on Tuesday (moved up my previous given scheduled appointment) and I told Will I think it lost refrigerant. He checked it and confirmed, yup it was really low. They did an inspection of the coil and 22 years of age has obviously taken its toll, they showed me pics. Will did give me options (zero pressure) to see if I wanted to do a leak test or fill with refrigerant to see how it holds up and find where it may be leaking . We openly talked about the unit life as well as the general condition and what the newer units offer in efficiency by comparison. The decision was an easy choice, replace it. They will be out tomorrow to replace the larger
downstairs unit. I got on the phone with Bernie to talk through the options to pay and I went with same option I did years prior for the upstairs unit.
Now could I have shopped around and gone to others for estimates, sure I could. But given my past positive experience, why chance it.
I say all of this so people realize that when you find a reputable business you can trust, you build on that relationship and stick with em. You recommend them to everyone.

Update to the unit installed in 2025. The drain lines clogged outside and backed up into the unit. I vacuumed out the line to clear out the clog. I then called the company and they immediately dispatched Joseph White who came out to check on the unit within an hour of my call. Joseph diagnosed (confirmed the issue) and went above and beyond to advise on next steps to watch over the unit over the next several days.
