“Testimonial for Coach Janet

I’ve been working with Janet on and off for over 13 years, and I can honestly say she has transformed my running. When we first started, my running was very casual, and she helped me connect with my core and learn how to run in a more grounded, efficient way. A few years ago, I increased the intensity of my training and began ultra running. As I made that transition, I struggled with recurring injuries, especially from over striding. Janet helped me not only recover but completely rebuild my form—teaching me how to maximize my stride without overstraining or pounding my body.

Thanks to her expert guidance, I’ve now been injury-free for over a year while running 95 miles per week. I completed my first 50-mile race and won my first 100K at the Mad City Ultras last spring.

Janet has a rare gift for seeing exactly what a runner needs to do to improve their form. While she’s incredibly detail-oriented and focused on the fine points that enhance performance, her insight goes far beyond the physical. She works with you on the mental and emotional levels too—and on how all three interact and show up in your running. She’s remarkably perseverant and creative, always finding new ways to help you make meaningful, lasting changes. I can’t tell you how many different ways she’s reminded me to engage my core!

As a former elite ultra runner herself, Janet knows what it takes to stay strong, push your limits, and maintain balance. She brings that deep, lived experience to every coaching session. Whether it’s learning to use terrain more effectively or building a lifestyle that supports and sustains your running, Janet sees and supports the whole picture.

Because of the tools Janet has taught me, I feel much more confident in my body and in my ability to run through challenges. Her coaching has helped me build not just strength, but resilience. I’m incredibly grateful for her help and guidance—and I can’t recommend her highly enough.

Amber Arvidson, winner of the Duke City Marathon 2023 and the Mad City 100K 2025”
