“Dr. Respicio has been taking are of us since 1998ish. We started with him in Daly City and now receive care in Hercules. We moved to Nevada 3 years ago and have continued to make the drive to see him because there really is not a better eye doctor on the planet. He helped me pick out the perfect frames and a pair of clip on sunglasses that are really cool and retro. The frames are very unique as he works with small vendors. His space is also stunning! It feels like you're walking into museum. I literally did not want to leave. I got progressive lenses, which has completely changed my driving experience so that I can look at the road and Waze without having to take my reading glasses on and off. It's a game changer! There's things people need to understand before walking into the store:- Alan has been a skilled optician for 50+ years- He's not going to steer you towards Gucci/Prada etc. but he will steer you to brands that are high quality, not 3D printed or dumped out in a factory in China and last for many years- He will give you a blunt and honest opinion of how it looks on you and if it fits your face well- You should call ahead and schedule an appointment because Alan does this out of love for his clients, not to make money- His work is not cheap, but stretched out over the life of the frames, it's worth it- He has to deal with downtown Berkeley crazies off the street coming in and causing trouble, so introduce yourself, be open to advice, and be patient.“

“I absolutely love the doctor. He is very understanding of any concerns and does help and makes sure you understand everything. I appreciate how I don't have to wait a long time to get an appt. The receptionist always answer pretty fast. Fair warning when you have an appt you have the call them to unlock the door and let you in.Only time I ever had an issue was during covid time for the wait on my medi-cal glasses but its understandable and thankfully I was still able to use the glasses I had at the time.“
