I chose MOTI in Highland Park, CA because of it's excellent rating & close location. It turned out to be an excellent decision. It is a very attractive facility. The staff is so knowledgeable & helpful. Most of the time I met with Michael Yip. He set up a program of exercises to strengthen my femur & foot. He even worked on remolding my foot, which needed to be reshaped after the fall. I can't say enough good things about MOTI and all of it's staff. I would 100% recommend them to everyone!“

The lockers and showers are also in perfect condition. No regrets. I go very early in the morning, so there's very few people and plenty of machines and weights.“

They use AI software to track the progress and let me know the area I could improve. I could view my report in the real time and very encouraging to continue because I got instant feedbacks right away to make adjustments if needed. This is the BEST place to work out and I LOVE it.“

2000 Huntington Dr, San Marino“Ive been a member of this gym for a few years already. Its nice that small changes have been made over the course of the years. (better equipment placement, outdoor expansion, addition of equipment). I never have to wait for things and its not overcrowded at most times. The weights are more or less always re-racked and Steven does a great job making sure everything is in place and ready for the gym goers. I'm not a client of Stevens but I do see him actively training clients with good instructions on technique vs just chatting about random things which ive seen before at other gyms. He might be good for you if youre looking for a trainer who will guide you through proper form and technique.“

The staff are friendly and the lockers room are okay, only bother is there could be some homeless or weirdos but that’s on a rare occasion. I do have one complaint and that’s some of the machines they are broken and take a while to be fixed. The ones I can name top of my head are the two leg curl machines and the two stair master. Hopefully they get fixed in the remodeling process.“

He arrived on time, cleaned all debris, and was extremely diligent in measuring out this area to allow us to have space in our garage. Prices were affordable and reasonable! This was nothing short of a painless and awesome experience and we enjoy using the equipment safely in our own home.“

This is an update on my review. On November 20 2025 they removed old equipment and changed to brand new equipment just so you know. It can only get better, come join us this club is the chilliest one around OC I can guarantee you that, specially after 9 pm. I'm not being paid to say this nor I am an affiliate or sponsor I just tell it like it is plus their staff personnel are great people and super ?“

This is one of the reasons why I continue to be a member of the Compton location.

I cannot believe the difference between a trainer that does not care about their clients goals , versus someone that makes their clients goals a main priority . Eric not only creates a specialized training program, designed for your specific needs, he does a full assessment of your body mechanics to ensure you perform movements in the correct way, as to ensure you do not sustain any injuries . Not only that, nutrition is key with his training programs . He will also give you specialized instructions on what to eat and when, to make sure your results and goals are optimal. Eric will follow through with your training program and hold you accountable, because he wants you to get your desired result , and will make sure you do, as long as you put in the work . My body type is slow to build muscle , I was doing bootcamp classes before and just maintained a “ skinny” body. After consistent training and program changes over these past 3 years , I have been building the muscular physique that I have wanted . I have found the training path I need to be on and I could not be more grateful . I am so happy I found Back 2 Basics training to get me where I am today.“
