They impressed us from the beginning, with their thoughtfulness in communication and dedication to our project. We hired Erol to design and renovate the backyard of our North Berkeley home; the yard was fully gutted to create a space to truly live outdoors: areas of concrete for our son to play, beautiful trees, native plants throughout, and new fencing for the property. Erol and his team also built and installed a large front gate - the work is so beautiful, and we get many compliments on the gate and entire yard. I plan to hire Erol again for future projects. “The experience with Dan has been excellent, from filling out the good website form (which other contractors did not have), through several estimates, to admiring the finished deck and privacy fence. He was patient and helpful with our trying to figure out exactly what we wanted. When he and his talented carpenter started, they worked in perfect harmony - as well as with our electrician and cement guy. Details of each day's work were made clear, and the project progressed quickly. Dan is an interesting, kind, soft-spoken person and we discussed many different subjects. “We've worked with Jason for several projects, and he's always been patient, knowledgeable, professional, and easy-going with regards to which parts of the project we wanted to own, which parts we weren't sure of, etc. His team has always been top notch for us.He gave us white glove service on a new deck with custom railing and a garage tear-down and rebuild, including a new chunk of driveway and an artsy fence; and when we wanted to save a little money by managing a renovation project on our own, he helped us with that as well (drywalled and insulated the kitchen, rebuilt the front porch, replaced the back door, trimmed the eaves, and advised on a lot of odds and ends). Absolutely looking forward to working with him again for the next major project[s] as we figure them out.“

“Dave is an absolute expert contractor for seismic retrofit. During consultation he took the time to advise me on earthquake insurance, which structural engineer to work with, what to expect on the permitting/inspection process (his foreman handled all of it) and how the work would be done in detail. His crew was very professional, friendly and performed expert work. The plans provided by the structural engineer were followed exactly. When one item was missed, it was addressed immediately. Dave also helped my find the right subcontractor for earthquake valve installation. There were some hiccups in communication in getting this job going, but Dave was clear as to why that happened and was just an expert in seismic retrofit delivering a job that is code compliant and was done on schedule and budget with no problems once work was underway.“
