“I was desperate for a healthcare provider that would take my weight gain and decreased energy issues seriously. I hadn’t been sleeping well, and I felt sluggish ALL of the time. I had been told by doctors, several times, “that just happens when women your age reach menopause”. I knew something was wrong. I felt hopeless, but refused to believe that nothing could be done to help me. I saw Sharon in November. She spent a whole hour with me at my first office visit. She ordered MULTIPLE labs to determine exactly what was going on in my body. It turns out menopause is not my only issue. I am also an insulin resistant pre-diabetic with a sluggish thyroid (with a family history of both conditions). I started treatment with an oral diabetes medication, hormone replacement therapy and some supplements to help my thyroid function more efficiently. The results have been amazing!! I have much more energy! I’m sleeping like a baby. I’ve lost 15 pounds since December 2nd, and continue to loose weight. I’m finally starting to feel like my old self again. “I first came to Avenue Dental in a very serious health crisis. I had a tooth infection, and another illness had also inflamed my nerves so badly I was in terrible daily pain. I had briefly met Dr. Bittar at another clinic before he came to Avenue Dental, and I was very impressed with his work. I was in total desperation, as my other dentist had missed the tooth infection and also did not seem to understand my pain. It was an answer to prayer that I found out Dr. Bittar was in network for my insurance. The long drive was well worth it. From day one his approach was to treat me, the patient, not just my teeth. It took months of work, but finally my pain is starting to get better.

Dr Bittar and his assistant, Dakota, went above and beyond to help me. Unfortunately I had to call Dakota early one Saturday morning with emergency level pain; she quickly returned my call and got me in as soon as possible. Dr. Bittar also called me a number of times between patients to see how my pain level was and to encourage me that he was committed to getting me healthy no matter how long it took. I also want to thank the receptionists, who had to schedule and re-schedule many appointments to get my crisis under control.

There are many dentists who are experts in their field. But to have that expertise AND have the genuine compassion and care that I found at Avenue Dental, that is something that just can’t be taught. I will always be grateful to Dr Bittar and Dakota for helping me through the toughest time I’ve ever gone through in my life.“

“I have been coming here (silver spring) for three years and while the doctors in Aurora generally seem to get shuffled to other locations or providers, I have no complaints about this location, never a huge crowd and called on time. Initial visits with MDs can take a while as all their current patients have priority. But once you get past that first visit things get scheduled quickly. Everyone has always been polite and professional and the lab people always get me on a first stick and I'm a tough customer. Now the lab on Good Hope almost always full and behind schedule. This one is timely and not crowded.4-17-24 Update. Still pretty good experience here, still dont know why there are so many negatives. Dr. Heyden has been great and front desk staff and lab are respectful and efficient. Dr. Heyden is retiring later this year and promises TWO new doctors. We wil see! Its always been short staffed and a bit of a revolving door here, but that is Aurora in general IMHO.“

“I went to this locations urgent arrived about 4:45 for shortness of breathe. Got called back right away. I don't remember names but I remember kindness and compassion (I also prayed before going) but they dug into my health history probably more than I wanted but they did what was right and treated and tested me accordingly. Not sure about the low reviews I thought the staff was great!“
