“First let me say I love the vet here my dog has been here before she’s wonderful!
I understand that it’s always easier to make appointments for your pet but just like sometimes your children get sick and need same day appointments, it’s the same situation for your pets. I feel like they can never accommodate I’ve had to take my dog to an ER twice now because of this.
Yesterday my husband went in with our dog early morning hoping we could get squeezed in. Okay fine they had no availability of course. BUT my issue is that without seeing our dog at all THEY recommended he go to and ER. They said they had no space and with what my husbands told them they think he should go in because of what needed to be done. My husband them took our dog to the ER where we ended up paying around $320 for them to tell us the procedure he needs done is probably better off done at his regular vet because of the cost. So then I call Elyson vet hospital and they tell me I can’t even get a quote for what he needs done I need to get seen by their Vet and pay their exam fee to then get a quote. I’m frustrated because if they would’ve atleast peeked at my dog they could’ve maybe told me to wait and make an appointment instead of spending 320$ elsewhere and still having to go back to pay the same exam fee to get seen there. Times are tough and I know I’m responsible for my pet and their cost but in this situation it felt preventable considering times are tough.
Money wasted at an ER because our regular vet can’t bear accommodate existing patients.
* update: The doctor called and had a conversation with us and made things right. I think overall it was a learning experience and we feel good about the resolution. We will continue using Elyson for our vet services and feel comfortable doing so.”
