300 E Central Texas Expy Suite 200, Harker Heights Texas 76548
I normally don't like writing reviews, but figured I might as well get this documented for others to reference if they experience a similar situation. Wife and I had accounts with this Harker Height ME location pre-COVID and canceled around the height of the pandemic. Even though I had established the account in Harker Heights, I had recently retired from the military and was working in the DFW area and utilized the ME locations there. When my wife and I did use the HH ME location we had no issues. Fast forward 5-6 years later, we decide to re-establish our account with the HH ME location in November 2024. From then up until today, we've been paying and only my wife has used a credit since. I've not used any credits and decided last week to book an appointment for Sunday (today / 18 May at 11:30am). Prior to booking the appointment, I did read several reviews which indicated that customers had experienced their scheduled appts being canceled at the last minute simply due to massage therapists not showing up, but decided to give this HH ME location a chance, since my wife had an appt a few weeks prior without issue. Yesterday morning I received a call from this location confirming that my 18 May appt was good to go. This morning I arrive approx. 10min prior to the appt, get checked in, and placed in the waiting room. About 5min after my scheduled time, the young female employee at the front desk came in to inform me that she was having difficulties in reaching my therapist. This caught me off guard as I would believe that this therapist would/should have been there in advance. About 15min later (20min after my scheduled time), I come out of the waiting room and confirmed that my therapist had still not arrived. Knowing that I was now experiencing what others had (based on the reviews I read), I immediately requested contact information for office & upper level management and left the premises, visibly irritated for having my valuable time wasted. I don't know if this is a systemic issue, but it is absolutely unprofessional and NOT the way to receive any positive feedback by word of mouth. I called the franchise owner approx. 10min after leaving this location, explained the issue to him, he explained that he had been communicating with the front desk employee about it as well, and later I received a text indicating that my appt had been rescheduled. Bad employees can destroy a business as people can start forming negative perceptions about any business based on that. Hopefully my upcoming rescheduled appt is a pleasant experience because I do plan to update this review, good or bad. In the meantime there needs to be some serious thought given & effort taken to identify and retain only the best employees at this location who want to do their job. We should not have to travel to the Temple ME location when there's one in our own neighborhood. Communication is key, so hopefully the communication had with this franchise owner rectifies what occurred today.
UPDATE (09/20/2025):
I'm only upgrading my initial 1-star review to 5-star because of my positive experiences with Ashley. Following my 05/18/2025 negative experience, my discussion with the manager, and reassignment to Ashley (a punctual/reliable employee), service has been commendable. I've been coming to appts at least once a month since May and Ashley is always on time. Her attentiveness and communication before & during the session have actually assisted me in identifying some areas that I have improved in for overall health and comfort. Each of the sessions I've had with her since May have started on time, been outstanding, and good professional feedback has been provided for each future session. Ashley is the type of employee that these establishments need to be more aggressive at finding more of. My experience with her has completely turned that May 18th disaster 180 degrees in the opposite direction...and that's a great thing!
