D & D Heating & Cooling Inc
“D&D is the HVAC contractor you should be using. Stay away from the big companies.
This is my 2nd home serviced by them, and ultimately my 2nd changeout. I've always carried a maintenance contract with them to ensure things are working properly during the heat and cool seasons. During this Summer's regular service, Manny gave me the unfortunate news that the outside coil developed a large leak and the system pressure was very low. This eventually led to losing A/C entirely just a couple weeks after. I had some suspicion there was an issue before his visit, since the unit was running longer and the house struggled to maintain temperature. At that point, I decided to replace the entire system rather than replace or try to repair the outdoor unit.
I'm a picky guy, do a lot of research, and know exactly what I want when it comes to major home projects. Kevin and Manny were both very patient with me through the entire design and quoting process. Rather than a simple changeout, we ended up on a fully modulating York 5-ton dual-fuel heat pump system with relocation of the outside unit to the opposite side of the home and steam humidification. This required much more work than a one-for-one replacement, including landing a new subpanel and routing lineset through a finished basement ceiling. They had total confidence in the project and that they can get it done properly.
It was a 3-day installation. Ricky and DJ got right to work and fully understood the scope of the job. They took their time, were polite and happily took input from me, and cleanly completed the work as if it was their own home. They took pride in their workmanship and everything was ran, taped, and plumbed cleanly. They left a clean work area when each day was done. After the install, Manny came in for system start up. He tested everything, topped off pressure, and fine tuned the system to run as best as it can. A/C performance across the whole home is better and more balanced than it ever was since we've been here.
I don't hire contractors on the lowest bid, and by no means was this a cheap project. I look for contractors who are skilled, value workmanship, stand by their work, and who are good at one trade rather than mediocre at five. You can't put a price on the comfort of your family and your home - that's something I realized when we were without A/C on one of the hottest and most humid days of Summer. D&D is who I trust to keep us comfortable.
I appreciate Kevin, Manny, DJ, and Ricky through the entire process. It was a pleasure working with them.”
