“Have had a great experience with Come Dog and Walkin' Dog classes here (both taught by Emma). Our dog is 65lb of pure puppy energy and we were not sure if he'd be able to make it through a whole hour being so close to other dogs without being able to play with them (his only desire in life is to wrestle every dog he sees). Emma did a great job setting up the space to minimize distractions and got him to the point where he pays attention to us even with other dogs nearby. All the games and skills we learned in class have really translated into better behaviour and self control everywhere. Going on walks is 1000% more fun, he's able to sit calmly when dogs walk by us, and his recall is pretty darn good too. Going to classes together really helped me and my partner get on the same page with training. Instead of both of us watching a bunch of random Youtube videos and taking different approaches we now all know the same cues and rewards and our dog isn't getting mixed messages from us. Totally worth the cost.“

“I am so happy and grateful to have found Woof-Tastic for my pup, Maya! I have been SO impressed with the kindness of the staff, their communication, and care. The environment is bright and fun and just matches what you read and see online. And I can tell Maya, although still a little timid and shy, is warming up, feeling safe, and having a great time! I feel so relieved and can not reccomend Woof-Tastic enough!“

“Before we went to Kindred Dog Pdx we were never confident that we could have Josey off leash because she basically had no recall. She was also a bit anxious when people and other dogs approached. So, we decided to enroll her in a 4-week Board and Train last October. We have been so very pleased with the care, support and expertise that were given to us since that time. Ruben and Shane are great at communicating with us and our 3 year old lab/pittie mix. Their gentle yet firm manner of speaking to Josey and their clear teaching style really allowed Josey to be more calm and confident. We have been regulars at the weekly group alumni class which is a great community support gathering with pearls of training that we take with us to practice before the next class. The saying ‘It takes a village…’ can also be applied to the care that’s often times needed in the raising of these wonderful K9 friends. My husband and I took up the responsibility and energy of raising a very active 8-week old pup while we are in our 70’s. We are very fortunate and grateful that we were guided to Kindred Dog Pdx and have become confident dog handlers in the process.“

“Our dog loved her stay with Holly and family so much and it was such a huge relief for us to know she was being well taken care of while we were gone. Holly sent daily pictures which were much appreciated. Highly recommend!“

“I've been taking my Australian Labradoodle there 2 days a week for a year now, and she absolutely loves it there. She is so excited at the entrance and to see the staff.Everyone there is professional, friendly, and show they care about their guests. They also work hard to keep the place clean. The owner does a great job of balancing everything (safety, prices, hours, procedures, etc.). And the app they use is great too.I am confident dropping off my best friend, and feel good she is there. Thank you Ruff House staff!“

“I had the best experience with Molly. She helped me raise my mastiff puppy into a gentle, well-mannered, and well-adjusted big guy. She provided valuable insights and creative solutions during challenging developmental stages, and also equipped me with the tools to read his behavior and resolve challenges on my own. Molly completely changed the way I understand dog training -- she helped me raise a dog who's a good listener because he trusts and respects me, not because he fears me or consequences. She's also a kind human being, clear and direct communicator, and a joy to work with. 100% recommend.“

“Highly recommended; they understand dogs, and use only positive methods. I foster dogs from China and Taiwan for Golden Bond Rescue. I'm not inexperienced with training, but one dog was extremely fear-aggressive with other people and very unsafe. Brittany worked with us a couple of times, and with some practice we were able to change her behavior completely. She got a wonderful home. Not inexpensive, but effective.“

“Risa is amazing. She is so intuitive with the animals and I'm so grateful we found her. I'm actually going to hire her for more sessions to give my dog even more discipline as we go through some major life changes.“

“I had puppy fever one day and bought a GSD pup from someone in the classifieds. Needless to say that was a huge mistake and my puppy had all sorts of behavior problems. I was going to try and just youtube my way through training but as he got bigger I got worried and reached out for some training.I reached out to 3 different trainers that I found from a google search. All three told me they suggested a 2 week board and train for 2000$ and promised my pup would be fixed.First of all I wasn't looking to just hand off my pup to some stranger to "fix" all his problems. Paul only suggested board and train when we had exhausted other avenues and my pup was still having negative behavior. eventually I did do a two week board and train with Paul and my pup came back with his manners! I was super impressed.Next Paul doesn't guarantee his training is going to "fix" the problem, and this makes so much sense because you cannot predict how the animal is going to learn and what other issues maybe going on. You also can't predict if puppy parents are going to go home and do their homework. I respected the honesty from him on that.Paul has been training and taking care of dogs for 20 plus years! He is knowledgeable, has a huge heart for animals, and is a no BS kind of guy. If you need dog training come see this guy!“

“There aren't enough stars to give Windy and her crew at Pounce Play and Stay. They took excellent care of my much loved Mr Fancypants, who is 12 years old, for an extended stay-- just about 3 months(!). They sent pictures and updates many times a week. Even though this was such a long stay away from home, our kitty came home happy, healthy and not holding a grudge :). I can't say enough good things about Windy and her team. Great care, communication, and just really nice folks who take excellent care of kitty cats.“

“Petlandia is wonderful! I have a pit bull/ heeler mix who often has issues with new people. Wendy took the time to get to know her and she is now officially on my dog's best friend list. I feel so much better leaving for work each day knowing that Wendy will be there to work with my dog. She is professional and a true animal lover. I highly recommend her and Petlandia. Your pet will be in amazing hands!“

“We love having our Sully with Mary Ellen. We never worry about him when he’s there. We use daycare and board with her when we are out of town. He is always excited to see her and she takes such good care of the pups in her care. Recommend her 110%.“

“Upon arriving back in Portland, I needed a dog walker as my remote job gave way to an on-site job. After being ignored by a couple of different providers, Betsy responded promptly, set up a meeting and now my guy, Gary, is the happiest pup on the block. She's priced fairly, provides excellent service (pictures of every walk and attention to Gary's well being), is an A+ communicator and just a generally great care-taker. I couldn't be any happier with Bowser's and Betsy and, as a fanatical fan of my dog, recommend her without hesitation.“

“Zoe and her team at Rascal Training are a godsend! Our 1 year old puppy was out of control and we spent the first 6 months we had him wondering what we got ourselves into. He was very reactive toward other dogs so we were never able to take him on walks and in the house he would constantly be chasing the cat, chewing on something he shouldn't be, jumping on someone, or licking everything in sight. I'm not exaggerating when I say Zoe changed our lives! Tag is now able to enjoy walks with the family, go to his bed on command, and has a much more calm demeanor. I would cry with joy watching the videos of Tag during his training and seeing the changes he made. I can't say enough good things about Zoe and what she's done for Tag and my family.Zoe was very thorough going over all of Tag's training when he picked him up. She kept us up to date on his training through Instagram videos and was very responsive to emails.“

“We took our Great Pyr here for training. Amy and the rest of the staff were absolutely fantastic. Moose’s behavior had been frustrating prior to training (lots of life changes including a work schedule change and us moving) and the team at Sauvie got him set right. He walks amazing on a leash, is listening to what we say, has been more playful and somehow even better around other dogs than before. I can’t say enough good stuff about the staff and facilities. We will for sure be boarding our dogs here whenever needed and taking all future pets here for training. They also did a great job grooming him while he was there; i think he was cleaner when we got him than when we dropped him off lol!“

“I’ve taken 4 classes with my young dog at Happy Go Lucky and I’m so grateful for their guidance and instruction. The instructors are TERRIFIC and the extras that Susan taught in obedience have proven to be essential to calm, daily living with my dog. Having never trained a puppy, I was unprepared for the challenges and was floundering when we arrived. Through the classes I’ve become much more confident and my dog is thriving!“

“We boarded our young (under 1 year) Australian Sheppard here over the Christmas holiday. Wendy was very hands on in making sure that he would be a good fit as he was a bit younger than they usually take. Right away this made us feel good, as we knew they were very serious about this experience. There is plenty of space for the dogs to exercise and socialize with the other dogs. Will absolutely be boarding here again!“

“The prices are definitely higher than other dog hotels and boarders. However, the price of this establishment feels more like an investment than paying for a service.Firstly, the facilities are clean and well organized. It’s a step above in every way from the status quo. It is definitely a dog hotel. My dog Mili is a formerly abused animal. She’s getting older and is generally more anxious than other dogs. Historically, she has a harder time with certain dogs vs others. She even used to bite people when she first was rescued. They interviewed her to cater to her needs and helped her bridge the gaps in her social skills. She definitely likes the more relaxed and older group of dogs and she always has anxiety in meeting new people. By the end of the day and on returning visits, she looks forward to spending time with the staff. They were perfect in their interactions with my dog and impeccably professional with me.This staff has built my trust with them as well as have helped develop my dogs ability to trust others both human and canine. They made things happen that I didn’t think was possible. I am more than satisfied.“

“Nicole Flowers is an excellent dog trainer. I highly recommend her services for any type of issue you and your dog are facing. I am with a Weimaraner rescue organization and we have hired Nicole to help us help dogs in foster and adoptive homes, and even to help dog owners who were considering surrendering their dogs to us when what they needed was a good trainer to help them. Common issues we hire Nicole for are leash reactivity, dog aggression, over protective with human, and obsessive/compulsive behavior (with people and food).Nicole's strengths are:* Experience - she has seen it all and been involved in animal training for many years.* Creative solutions - she does not presume to have the immediate solution; she spends time with the dog to understand the issue and then considers what will most likely work and modifies the training as she goes along. The results to her approach are amazing!* Professionalism, reliability and communication. Nicole listens very well to each detail the dog owner provides and explains her training approach so it is easy to follow for someone not familiar with dog training.I can truly say that in several cases where we hired Nicole, I do not know what we'd have done without her. In every case she made a positive impact for the dog and the people involved. 100% success in every case.“
