I have to admit, when Mommy first signed me up for puppy training, I wasn’t exactly sure how I felt about it. I was pretty much doing whatever I wanted… and, honestly, I thought I was doing a pretty good job! 😉
Well… Mommy decided to nip that in the bud! 😂
Apparently, puppies need manners, and we have to learn something called puppy etiquette—especially when we’re around other dogs. Who knew?!
We’re now three weeks into training, and I’m learning SO much! I’ve learned how to sit, stay, come, and wait, although I’m still practicing and trying my very best. And the best part? You get yummy treats just for trying! 🥰 Mommy praises me all the time too, so I think I’m doing pretty well.
I also have a buddy named Molly, who is a Yorkie just like me. But Molly is older, wiser, and definitely knows how to put me in my place when I get a little too silly! She reminds me that good manners are important, even when I’d rather do things my own way. 😂
Our instructor, Sue, is amazing. She knows so much about dogs, how they learn, and how to teach them in a way that makes sense. She has such a gentle approach, and she gives Mommy lots of helpful tips and tricks that we can actually use at home.
Sometimes I get a little stubborn… (that’s the Yorkie in me—wink! 😉) And that’s when Sue steps in and shows Mommy exactly what to do. Let’s just say… I’m not getting away with quite as much anymore! 😂
The funny thing is, it’s not just me who is learning—Mommy is learning right along with me! Sue has already taught us both so much, and I love that training is fun, positive, and encouraging.
I still have a few weeks to go, so hopefully, by graduation, I’ll be able to proudly say I earned a passing grade in Puppy Training! 🎓🐾
