“I actually would give Animal Infirmary a 5 star rating for the exemplary care we’ve received since we started bringing our dog 7 years ago. We’ve worked with some amazing vets, most notably Dr. Scarangella, who is just the sweetest and helped us through our dog’s eye surgery. However, our most recent experience with a vet in the practice makes me want to give an even lower rating than a 4, but I don’t want one terrible vet to ruin it for the rest of the practice. We are long term patients and my dog was due for her 6 month visit. First of all, our appointment was requested to be with Dr. Williams (also great!) because Dr. Scarangella wasn’t available and we ended up with a different vet. It was supposed to be a well visit but I wanted my dog’s ears checked because we suspected she had an ear infection. The vet we saw then subsequently shamed me for not bringing her in sooner, handed me a $1500 estimate for all the lab work and treatments she ABSOLUTELY needed and insinuated I was a neglectful dog mom if I didn’t do everything she suggested. She then said that we HAD to come back in two weeks (most people have said the traditional follow up is 4 weeks for dog ear infection), implying that I was going to ghost the follow up appointment. Mind you, I was scheduled to have a baby a week later and when my husband showed up to the follow up appointment with a 1 week old at home, the first thing the vet said to my husband was “oh wow you actually came back”. Why would we not come to a visit recommended by a doctor? And then went on to shame my husband at how bad my dog’s ears were originally, barely taking the time to acknowledge that the treatment worked and thank goodness she didn’t need systemic antibiotic treatment. I’ve never felt so disrespected by a medical professional. I would do absolutely anything for my dog and I’m just so offended by how both my husband and I were treated by this vet.“

“Easy booking process and everyone at the office was caring & pleasant. Dr. Sremac was quite knowledgeable and clearly explained the purpose of the required tests. I have difficulty walking and people went out of their way to help me enter & exit the office. Very positive experience.“

“Can't say enough good things about my experience here.

Before coming into Pure Paws last week, I was going to Ivy Pets in Tribecca where I had some bad experiences. Previously, I paid over $1000 to take an unnecessary X-ray where I had to wait over 24 hours for results. At Pure Paws, they saw my dog Jack immediately and I received results / analysis for his X-ray in minutes.

Additionally, for his visit, X-ray, and medication I paid just over $600, far less for way better service. Also, everyone was extremely nice and helpful and Curly at the front desk even left me with some nice gifts for Jack at the end of my visit. Will definitely be making this my new clinic for Jack.“

My partner brought him in, and he was seen by Dr. Canales. I was on speakerphone as she discussed options, pricing, and follow up. “After months of trying to treat my cat’s strange breathing problems and more recent Horner’s syndrome, I took my cat here for an internal medicine consult with Dr. Ferreri and Alyssa. They were both deeply kind and courteous. They thoroughly examined and explained the existing documentation + considered all the possibilities given my boy’s medical history. Best yet, they explained the reasoning behind treatment decisions both past and present. I found this last bit very reassuring (in spite of my chronic worries as a pet parent). “I brought my beloved dog Vanna to be put to sleep on June 7th to Meadowlands Veterinary Hospital . Vanna was 17 years old and was completely blind. Her blindness didn't stop her from being physically active and she was always on the move. Unfortunately there were other issues which made it impossible for Vanna to continue being active. Vanna was seen by Dr Meza. She was so patient with me and gave me all the time I needed to hold Vanna and cry and just say goodbye to my little beautiful baby. I didn't feel pressured at all. Dr Meza explained the entire procedure to me and told me when I was ready to let Vanna go to let her know. I was holding Vanna when she passed. I wept so much but I truly felt it was the best thing I could do for my sweet girl. I would definitely recommend Dr Meza or Dr Marteney. “Honestly this place is expensive, but vet care has always been that way but it’s so much more here. I have been calling nonstop because my little baby has been sick. I have never met such a compassionate team. Dr.Fracapane is so understanding and thorough, always explaining everything so I don’t get confused. Wendy is extremely patient and kind, listening to me complain and the nonstop questions. They both speak to you as a friend, not just a customer with sweet soft voices(you come to appreciate this when your dog is going through a rough patch). There is not a price I would not pay to get this kind of service. I cannot recommend Heart of Chelsea enough, thank you for all you do.“
