“I had to have what I thought was only some repair work done to my nearly 100 year old slate shingle roof. But, unfortunately, I was really wrong. I needed my whole roof replaced.The estimator from Roland Slate, Denis, got onto the roof, and came back down with some horrifying pictures for me. I couldn't believe what I was looking out. But the pictures were real and of a portion of the roof that wasn't visible from the ground.In that area, the roof was conpletely exposed to the sun for nearly 100 years. And some of the shingles had turned white, with a creamsicle orange toward the center!Denis and I discussed what would be best for me. He told me that slate was going to be very expensive. So he prepared two estimates for me of material that looked like slate.And the material I chose looks like slate, that is supposed to last at least 50 years.Roland Slate is literally the only place to go to deal with slate in the Baltimore. They take great care to make you comfortable with what needs to be done. And everyone I have dealt with from there has been incredibly nice and understanding.Now, I have to have the stucco on my house completely removed and have a lot of brickwork done in there. I am going to have fake stucco, which I understand is as good or better than the real stucco. Some of the brick has to be replaced. So, i know that this is going to be expensive.But, I've already talked to Roland about giving me estimates. I wouldn't go to anyone else.“

“The slate roof of our historic 1925 home in Cumberland, MD was in need of some TLC, due to deferred maintenance by the former owner and shoddy repairs over the years. Durable Slate was amazing, from start to finish! On contact, they promptly sent out an Estimator, who assessed the issues and provided a reasonable quote for repairs, inc. slate tiles and copper flashing. Work was performed by Master Craftsmen, with care and precision. A final Quality Inspection occurred to ensure all work was to high standards. “Very professional crew , that was able to walk me thru the process of getting my roof replaced making a insurance claim due to damage from a storm . Was fixed in a timely manner and they upgraded my shingles to an architectural shingles that look better and and last longer . They were able to deal with my home owners insurance company directly . After I made the initial claim they took care of the rest . My roof looks great and I get many compliments from friends when they come over . Highly recommended and will be referring them to all my friends and colleagues. Then a week later we had another storm blow thru and a big tree branch fell on my detached garage and put a hole in my garage roof .
