5106 N Harlem Ave, Harwood Heights“I love the facility and training with Coach Steph. I had taken a significant break from physical activity. She allows me to be myself, authentically. She’s knowledgeable, answering all my questions. She works with me and accommodates my limitations. The workouts are challenging yet fun, and I always feel supported and encouraged.
I have also gotten the opportunity to train with Coach Rob. Rob is supremely knowledgeable and caters to your specific physical level. The workouts feel challenging and fulfilling, but never overwhelming, and he has a way of pushing you just far enough to make real progress. Training with him builds confidence as much as strength.“
“Been going for 3 weeks now feeling great! Gym is super clean and well kept. Atmosphere is very inviting. Trainers know their stuff! Highly recommend!“

2731 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago“Lauren at In Motion is phenomenal! I needed physical therapy after I broke my fifth metatarsal on my left foot and was heading to Japan only weeks after being cleared to walk again. Lauren worked with me 3x/week to ensure I was ready, and sure enough I was able to walk 20k steps daily on my trip. She’s attentive, kind, and genuinely cares. Absolutely recommend!“
5:30AM - 7:30PM
944 W Madison St, Chicago“Been at Basecamp West Loop for almost three years now and I am so thankful for the fitness (and friends) that I’ve built here! The workout is engaging and clear (which is helpful when my brain is half asleep ?). The coaches each bring their own flare to the workout, and you can’t go wrong with any of them: Dana brings the hype, Braxton brings the intensity, Dennis has such attention to detail, and Brittany makes everyone feel like a friend… I could go on! Not to mention, you will always be welcomed and celebrated at Basecamp (s/o Abby & Alyona). So thankful for this place and the people that make it!
Also, think it goes without saying that I wouldn’t stay if I didn’t see results, too.“
5:30AM - 7:30PM
4510 N Ravenswood Ave, Chicago“Joining this gym was the best choice I made in 2025 hands down. I have more stamina and strength, but tbf this is my first ever CrossFit gym. It's very welcoming for beginners, but is challenging for elite athletes too; most athletes need to scale the main metcons (metabolic conditioning workouts).
The space can accomodate classes of 25-30 with space for 2-3 individuals to do their own workouts in the open gym space.
In this community, there are multiple entrepreneurs whose side businesses offer other nutrition, wellness, and food services. I love being surrounded by a community that is smart, welcoming, and savvy.
I cannot recommend this gym enough to my friends and family in the Chicagoland area.“
5AM - 8PM
5520 Wolf Rd, Western Springs“I’ve tried several different F45 fitness centers, and F45 Hinsdale is truly on another level compared to the rest. The energy and atmosphere are incredible, so motivating from the moment you walk in. Every workout feels intentional, challenging, and fun. The coaches are all top-level: knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely invested in helping you push yourself while keeping great form.“
6AM - 9PM
3808 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago“I’ve been training at Orange Shoe for about 1.5 years, and I can’t recommend it enough. With options for small groups sessions, 1:1 and partner training, there’s something for every fitness goal. The staff is outstanding – friendly, knowledgeable and genuinely invested in your progress. Huge shoutout to Anahi for being an incredible trainer! I feel stronger, fitter and more confident thanks to the great workouts.“
6AM - 10PM
5335 N Harlem Ave, Chicago“Tom is an exceptional personal trainer. He’s incredibly attentive and personalizes each workout based on your goals and comfort level. No two sessions feel exactly the same, which keeps things interesting & motivating, and it’s clear he genuinely cares about making sure you’re getting real value from every workout.
He can explain the science behind each movement, which helps you understand what you’re working and why. He pays close attention to form and safety, and he’s consistently on time, fully present, and never distracted (not on his phone).
Most importantly, he makes working out fun, the sessions fly by, and you leave feeling accomplished every time. I couldn’t ask for a better trainer and highly recommend him!“

6AM - 9PM
2727 N Halsted St, Chicago“I had walked past this gym so many times and been curious to actually stop by and check it out. I could not have been more pleasantly surprised when I went inside and saw the facilities and met coach B. We talked through the program and I signed up for a free trial session the following week. The free session was great and I’ve been going to the gym three times a week ever since.
I’ve worked with a lot of personal trainers one on one and working with B in a group but with a personalized program could not be better. You get the energy of the group, make friends and have coach B working with you to achieve your goals.
Very highly recommended.“
“This gym is the most welcoming, friendly, encouraging gym I’ve ever been to! I took advantage of their personal trainer sessions and the Saturday morning classes. Each of these experiences had me feeling stronger and more knowledgeable. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a gym!“

3430 W Diversey Ave floor 1, Chicago“Great gym. You really feel that they care about your success. Could not recommend them enough.“
“This gym is great. It’s smaller with a more intimate and modern feel on the inside that definitely tries to cater to the people living in the city. Was the $40 day pass a little expensive? Yes. However, true gym goers only buy day passes when they need to pay for the convenience of being able to still get in a lift when they can’t go to their own gym. This gym was great for me because I could walk 15 minutes from where I work and it was significantly closer than any other gyms in the areas. It’s a smaller space but there’s PLENTY of equipment to hit your essential lifts. It’s downtown Chicago, so don’t expect the size of an LA or Lifetime.
This is just a PSA for anyone looking to use the showers. The one on the left (if facing both showers) did take quite a few minutes for the water to get hot. Multiple factors could have played into this and I ended up just sticking it out and taking a cold shower due to time constraints. It DID get hot eventually. Overall, this did not impact my experience at MODE whatsoever. I would go again if I needed to and would recommend this location to anyone who needed a quick lift if they were in the area.“

5:30AM - 8PM
1747 N Elston Ave, Chicago“I joined edge 2 years ago, I wanted to start a healthier life style which meant taking a chance on myself. the minute I walked into edge I felt so welcomed and I'm one who doesnt like to try new places because I get intimidated fast. not the case here, since joining I have made long lasting friendships and have discovered a new side I didn't know I had. Not only did I ran my first 50k but now I'm training for my first 70.3 triathlon. Everyone is so Inspiring that it's hard not wanting to try it yourself. I wouldn't be who I am today if it wasn't for edge and I am so thankful for everyone. If you ever questioned stepping inside let me tell you this is your sign because you will not regret it.“
“I first started going to Wattage to rehab a shoulder dislocation, the process of which was so effective that now I couldn’t tell you which shoulder I injured. Alongside that swift recovery process, I underwent muscle coordination training to prevent future injuries, and have since moved on to practical strength training. Because of the dedicated programming and care I’ve received from Kelsie at Wattage, I’ve become a stronger and more injury resistant athlete, allowing me to pursue more physical endeavors and goals than I previously believed possible for myself. As for the location itself, the staff is incredibly friendly, the equipment is high quality and clean, and the amenities are plentiful. I cannot recommend this place enough!“

1045 South La Grange Road, La Grange“BASE is the best thing that every happened to me. I have met so many amazing people and I have made so much progress in the gym. The trainers are always there for your success and cater to your individual needs/sport. They know exactly what they are talking about when it comes to the gym. I have gained more muscle and athleticism in my time with BASE than in the rest of my life. I have taken a big jump in athleticism and performance ever since I step foot in BASE.“

Open 24 today
5417 N Broadway, Chicago“I only have three very specific complaints.
1. The water from the bottle-filling station tastes funky, even after they replaced the filter.
2. Some of the metal free weights and attachments smell crazy; they need to be BRUSHED clean. Wiping them is NOT sufficient to get the gunk out from the little crevices in the grips.
3. The lat pulldown attachment is falling apart (along with some other attachments), and needs to be replaced. You'd think stuff like this would be maintained more proactively.
Regarding more general stuff, it does get pretty packed during peak hours. I don't think I've ever seen the cardio equipment fully occupied, but you may spend some time waiting for the other machines, especially the single smith machine.
That being said, I almost exclusively come after 9pm, and there's usually only around 10 people by then. They have an app that tracks the current occupancy, but it's always an underestimation in my experience.
The gym is sufficiently clean, everyone wipes equipment down when they're done, and the restrooms are solid. When you compare it to other gyms that are charging twice as much and aren't even open 24/7, I think $50/month is a decent value.“
5AM - 10PM
6255 S Archer Ave, Chicago“Exceptional experience at Vaunt! From the moment I walked in, I felt motivated and supported by the friendly staff and inclusive atmosphere. The state-of-the-art equipment and diverse range of classes cater to all fitness levels and goals (I highly recommend classes with Patsy). The cleanliness and organization of the facility reflect a high standard of care for members.Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned gym-goer, Vaunt offers a welcoming environment to help you achieve your fitness aspirations.Highly recommend!“

“Nick is a fantastic trainer. From our initial consultation, he took the time to listen to my story, my fitness goals, and what I wanted to get out of my fitness journey. He is accommodating and truly cares about his clients. Nick makes you feel comfortable and challenges you to build strength and make changes outside the gym. He is honest about the changes needed to meet your goals and encourages you every step of the way. I have learned a lot with Nick. I usually work out at home, and I have tailored my regular exercise routine with all that I have learned from Nick, including warm-up, stretching, good form, and split. Although not a nutritionist, he shares everything about healthy eating habits. He has a powerful story as well; he has persevered in his life and has used life's hard lessons to create a welcoming atmosphere that is challenging and encouraging.
I look forward to continuing to train with Nick.“
