RITUAL FITNESS Yoga

“I have trained with Zoe at RITUAL and it has been life changing/ transformative. Zoe is an incredible trainer and the space is gorgeous. My body has transformed and the way I understand fitness has evolved completely. I saw Zoe before, during, and after my first pregnancy and she moved through all of those (very different) phases seamlessly and motivated and supported my fitness goals and evolving body throughout. Zoe also trains a few other people I know and she tailors the trainings to everyone differently based on their needs. I truly could not recommend Zoe and RITUAL fitness more highly.

Also I always had an easy time parking and could go get coffee or lunch after on York Street! A++ spot.“

“The people are so friendly and also knowledgeable. It's a great combination of ancient wisdom and tradition and rigor while also being humble, earnest, and approachable plus it's a creative space that feels like a maker space but for your mind ;) Delicious tea and sometimes meals; a whole host of great events from full moon ceremonies to raucous dharma combats and weekly talks that change how i see everything but also show me how great i am already despite also being endearingly bonkers.“

“I love this virtual yoga class! Mindy is an exceptional teacher, giving detailed instructions throughout each session. Her methods brought me a deep awareness of my body and have resulted in rapid improvements in my posture, balance, flexibility and strength. These classes go far beyond yoga and provide deep somatic techniques that lead to long-lasting change.“

“The best and most welcoming Yoga studio I've been to in LA. Nicole at the front desk is the nicest person ever, and all the teachers are really solid. I've done like 60+ classes here at this point.I do miss more classes being on the patio, but I also understand the smaller capacity out there makes it challenging from a business sustainability standpoint.“

Marna Currie Integration Yoga

“I can’t say enough wonderful things about Marna. I reached out to her as I passed my estimated due date and the possibility of induction was brought up by my OB. My goal was to have an unmediated birth so at the recommendation of my hypnobirthing instructor, I booked a reflexology session with Marna to see if we could get things moving.
She arrived and her spirit made me feel completely at ease before our session even began. The reflexology appointment did so much good, completely relaxed me and (no exaggeration) took down my ankle swelling by 90%! The next day I had a big release of emotion and a huge urge to organize anything and everything and the day after that my water broke in the very early morning!
My labor in hospital went quickly and well and so did my delivery. Marna’s work delivered that extra nudge my body needed to get going on its own. Without question, I would recommend her to any woman approaching her time to give birth and would absolutely want to work with her again myself next time I’m pregnant!“

Jack Tone L.M.T. Massage Therapy & Energetic Healing Yoga

“Magic is real and this man is a very very real wizard. I had my right leg lengthened eight times as a child and consequently have had chronic pain, peripheral neuropathy and compensation patterns that make it very difficult to concentrate, breathe, sleep, or plan beyond the next 3-5 days— without me needing to say any of that, Jack put hands directly onto the persistent thorn in my side, released it with what I can only describe as lasers coming out of his fingers, and then proceeded to put the rest of my bones back into place. My hips move, my eyeballs track, my heel is in contact with the ground. There are elements of massage and osteopathy but there’s something else that’s in a league of its own— it was so effective for me that I’m now making life moves to study it formally. You will not find this kind of healing easily anywhere else. Go see Jack, he will cure what ails you.“

Boheme Yoga Yoga

“I'm here for the weeks unlimited ($25) 5.22-29th. First impression: I like it a lot. It's a wonderful space of rooms teaching both heated and non-heated classes sans humidity. The word serenity comes to mind. As soon as you come in you are immediately greeted with a precipitous staircase and a embedded bronze placard proceeding warning you to "watch your first step". There are some commercial entities that have mastered the art of environment. Places where as soon as the door closes behind you shutting out the city bustle you've left behind you are almost transported to another place. I've not yet been to a space accomplishing this better than Boheme Yoga.I will of course update this as the week progresses. But they also teach pilates here so already, having had my very first P class ever only today, I'm a little in love with this place. It is what you think of when you imagine yoga studios: Discreet, quietly dignified and powerful in its certainty of being just exactly what it is: I tranquil place for serious minded yogis to come further stretch push and condition their bodies. All of them claim it, this feels already, as if it's actually accomplished and provided a safe space where perhaps there could actually be a 'community' of like minded people who do more than just sweat and endure together.Everyone here also seemed to have invested in good quality mats (as opposed to the yoga interlopers who've not yet decided if this is for them a short-term indulgence or life-long lifestyle commitment). And boy, not for nothing, but after corepoweryoga it was just nice to see a green lit water filter again. lol“

“I had a wonderful experience at Vital Integrative Medicine in Pasadena. The team truly takes the time to listen and understand your health concerns rather than rushing through an appointment. Their approach with a holistic perspective is wounderful, which made me feel confident that my overall well-being—not just symptoms—was being addressed.

The staff is professional, knowledgeable, and very welcoming. The office environment is calm, clean, and well organized, making each visit comfortable and stress-free.

Mixtape Athletics Yoga

“Sooooo... I drank the Crossfit Kool-aid. After years of watching my husband practice this crazy sport, I finally gave in.

I am not now, nor have I ever been a sporty person. I started coming to Mixtape for their yoga classes. Loved it. I then moved on to spin classes. Yes! I can do this. Now I'm doing the crazy WOD (Workout of the Day). I'm actually doing things in the gym I would have never thought I could do.

The coaches are without exception knowledgeable,
approachable, and encouraging. They modify and accomodate the workouts to your level of fitness. The facility is not like a typical chain gym, but it is clean and welcoming. But the NUMBER ONE REASON why I keep coming back is the sense of community that Coaches Sadie and Jason have fostered in their business. The inclusivity and comaraderie and overall lovefest I feel here are everything. Having a cruddy day at work? Come to the box. Relationship woes? Come to the box. Too many tamales? Come to the box. You'll sweat. You'll laugh. You'll feel better. Did I mention this is a dog-friendly spot? Seriosuly... come this box!!!“

“The program itself feels gentle and may seem simple at first, and I don’t always leave with the sensation of an intense workout. That said, I’ve come to appreciate that Pilates emphasizes mindfulness, body awareness, and intentional movement. Through repeating the exercises, I’ve learned to better understand my muscles and how my body moves as a whole. Overall, the experience has been positive for both my mind and body.“

The Art of Living Foundation Yoga

“This is one of my favorite personal development centers in LA. It is a community center that educates people on the mind and how to manage your through the through mindfulness practices, based on teachings by Gurudev.

I started attending a few years ago in college when I found out about the SKY meditation program and have been coming back ever since.

Check out their full moon mediations, which happen every full moon and are open to the public. This is a great introduction to meditation for people who are curious and want to explore a new space.“

Hot Yoga Pasadena Yoga

“I've been practicing Bikram Yoga at Hot Yoga Pasadena regularly for a about 13 months now and I can't think of any negative things to say about this studio! It is equipped with clean showers and multiple restrooms. In the beginning, I had a hard time getting used to the smell of sweat in the hot yoga room full of people, but it no longer bothers me. It's just something that you have to get used to if you want to practice hot yoga anywhere.I love my regular instructors (since they pay attention to details and try to push me beyond my limits), but I have never had a bad instructor here. All of them are really encouraging, knowledgeable, and friendly.Practicing Bikram Yoga has transformed my life in different ways, both physically and emotionally. Prior to this practice, weekly chiropractic sessions and daily pain medications were not able to completely eliminate the upper back and neck pain that I experienced from long hours of standing (required by my job). I am happy to say that the tension on my neck and shoulders have been significantly reduced (from 6 to 1 on a scale of 1-10) since I started my regular Bikram Yoga practice and I no longer need to visit my chiropractor or my daily pain medications!I'm not going to lie and say that I am totally pain free. In fact, I often feel sore all over my body after 90 minutes of stretching and toning in the hot and humid room, but as the saying goes, "no pain, no gain!" I've tried other methods of weigh loss after having two kids, but couldn't really maintain them. Bikram Yoga has somehow guided me to a healthier life style (with more water and vegetable and less caffeine consumption and eating smaller but more frequent meals). I find that on days that I don't drink enough water or did not eat well, it is harder for me to complete my yoga practice. However, no matter how terrible I feel during the practice, I always enjoy the rush of endorphines after each yoga session. A year of religious Bikram Yoga practice has resulted in a 10-pound weight loss and the decrease in one dress size!Getting started was the hardest step, especially with getting my body used to the heat and the smell of sweat. I'm glad I got over those hurdles and feel very thankful for Hot Yoga Pasadena in providing a clean facility and amazing instructors to help me in this positive self transformation!“
