“I can’t recommend Johnny enough. I had leaks at both my sink and toilet due to badly corroded galvanized steel nipples, and he quickly diagnosed the issue and replaced them with copper ones. He also installed a whole-house water pressure regulator to fix my high PSI issue, which I didn’t even realize was causing long-term stress on my system.

What really stood out was how easy he was to talk to. He’s incredibly knowledgeable about the local plumbing setup (which saved me a lot of time and confusion), communicates clearly every step of the way, and has over 15 years of experience. It really shows in the quality of his work.

He made having a contractor working on this old house a pleasant experience, which most aren't. Expensive, yes, but he was reasonable and stuck to the estimate.

“I called after hours on the weekend with a clogged toilet issue. I spoke with Saul who advised me because it was after hours the rate is doubled and if I could wait till the next day it would be less costly. I didn’t want to wait. Saul asked a few questions to access the issue. He advised me he would hate for me to pay double the money for an issue I might be able to solve on my on. He then gave me instructions on how to resolve the issue and said if I was not able to fix the issue I can call back to set up an appointment. I followed Saul’s instructions and cleared the issue. The customer service was exceptional. It was nice to deal with a company that puts customer service as a priority over money. I highly recommend R & L plumbing. Thanks again Saul!“

“Response time =Excellent. Joe performed an inspection of our old toilet and made a cogent recommendation. He clearly explained our options and pricing of the toilet plus possible warranties. We were leaving on vacation the next day (9/3/2025) and didn’t want another toilet flood. Earlier this summer we had one while we were on vacation. Ended a working toilet. The one replaced was 12 years old and almost overflowed after a flush in the morning. Turned off the water to the toilet before it did. Tried plunging with partial success and decided to call in a plumber. Genteel had good YELP ratings and looked to be in the neighborhood on Irving Street . Though we found out later that may have been an old address. No matter.
The handoff from Joe to Daniel, who performed the install, was seamless. Both were very professional and a pleasure to work with. Both were good active listeners and answered our questions well. If we have a plumbing issues, I would NOT HESITATE to call Genteel. I would not hesitate to recommend this business. One other thing that struck me was how good the virtual assistant was. I’ m getting close to the “get off my lawn” stage ( @ 67 years old) in life. To date I have not been a fan of virtual assistants whatsoever. Whatever technology Genteel invested in, it is head and shoulders above any other virtual assistant I have dealt with. I didn’t have to scream “CUSTOMER SERVICE” into the phone several times to talk to a person and not a robot. Very human like. And GOOD INCLUDING FOLLOWUP. As a self identifying neo-Luddite, I was impressed.“
