“A really wonderful dentist. I drive all the way to Berkeley from Sacramento to see them. I have a rare medical condition that has specific implications for dental health. They've been accommodating and proactive -- doing research where necessary to make sure that I'm getting the best care possible. I've also never had an attempt to upsell cosmetic work here; no discussion of whitening or veneers, both of which I had every dentist mention every single visit the whole time I lived in Los Angeles. Do I have to bill back to insurance? Yes. Have I ever had a problem with that? No. Ultimately, billing back to insurance (as others have mentioned in their reviews) is a very small tradeoff for me when compared with having a dental team that I trust.“

“We love Dr. Denise and Uptown Pediatric Dentistry! My little one is always comfortable and actually looks forward to coming, big plus!. The staff is pleasant, the inside is cute/playful and overall we’ve never had an issue with anything. Professional, punctual, and you can tell there is a genuine love for what they do here. “My dental hygienist Pamela was absolutely wonderful and a wealth of information! What an awesome bedside manner, professional courteous, interested, very helpful.
I appreciated that the doctor did not try to upsell me on something that I can wait on for another year. The receptionist too was patient answering my questions! I also like how they ask you if you have a preference for your next cleaning in terms of dental hygienists. They definitely go above and beyond with customer service, which is rare these days!

I recently had a crown done and was pretty apprehensive about the appointment, even knowing firsthand how skilled he is. I’m one of those odd ball patients that doesn’t numb easily. Dr.Marc put me completely at ease — his sense of humor, calm demeanor, and surprisingly painless injection made all the difference. I didn’t feel not even a twinge of pain. “I started going to Dr. J. Cortese about 30 years ago. He healed me from my dental trauma from my childhood dentist. I have crowns that he put in that are 25+ years old and in good shape. There was a number of years that I didnt see them due to changes in my life and I was never completely satified with the 3 different dentist that I went to. I am happy that circumstances changed and I am back in their good hands. I have seen Dr. Kara, Dr. Joseph Cortese and Dr. Frank Cortese all of whom I would give 10/10 to. The entire staff is awesome! “Until now, I’ve always hated going to the dentist. New to this dental office, and could not have made a better choice. They care about their patients and it shows. The reception area, waiting area, dental exam rooms and the bathroom are very clean and neat. EVERYONE of the staff members I had the pleasure of coming in contact were professional and inviting! The dental hygienist had a soft touch and was very attentive. I am not going to mention my dentist by name because I don’t want everyone reading this to request him, thus making him unavailable to me, but what I will say is that he is warm and personable and explained everything to me in terms that I could understand , he was honest and genuine, he didn’t rush and make me feel like I was just $$.
