“A really wonderful dentist. I drive all the way to Berkeley from Sacramento to see them. I have a rare medical condition that has specific implications for dental health. They've been accommodating and proactive -- doing research where necessary to make sure that I'm getting the best care possible. I've also never had an attempt to upsell cosmetic work here; no discussion of whitening or veneers, both of which I had every dentist mention every single visit the whole time I lived in Los Angeles. Do I have to bill back to insurance? Yes. Have I ever had a problem with that? No. Ultimately, billing back to insurance (as others have mentioned in their reviews) is a very small tradeoff for me when compared with having a dental team that I trust.“

“UPDATE 2026 - The excellent team at Green Dentistry continues to deliver at every level! The practice is expanding and their new office at 490 Post Street feels more like a luxury medi-spa than a dental practice. I find myself looking forward to my dental visits like a treat for myself rather than obligatory maintenance.

Dr. Patel keeps up on advancements in the field and is an early adopter of new technologies. They now use 'air polishing' for cleaning. I've had it twice now and it seems faster and more comfortable.

They recommended I do the Oral DNA test and sent me home with a simple spit collection kit. It measures the types and population of various bacteria in the microbiome and identifies strains associated with periodontal disease and cavities. We switched up my home care routine based on the results and my exam today shows excellent progress!

Dr. Patel isn't one of those dentists that just focuses on treating the symptoms. She has a holistic approach focusing on restoring balance and good health. Why isn't more healthcare like this?

Fantastic results in my first visit! I needed a deep root cleaning and it was totally painless. I had a whitening treatment and my teeth look so youthful. I didn't realize what a difference that could make for my whole appearance. Dr. Patel explained everything and I felt like she really took the time and effort to understand what's important to me. Lauren was fantastic with the new patient orientation and Damaris did a beautiful job with the cleaning. Top to bottom a great experience. I can't recommend them more highly.
UPDATE: February 2020 - I've been seeing Dr. Patel for almost 2 years now. My gums are in great shape and I get compliments on my smile. They take such great care of you, including their Comfort Spa Menu. Going to Green Dentistry really is like coming to a spa - for your smile!“

“My overall experience as a patient at Itani Dental is nothing short of exceptional. I have had anxiety going to the dentist since childhood but Dr. Itani and his team have been instrumental in making me feel comfortable and at ease from when I first came in for consultation at the beginning of this year to now. They worked with me and accommodated my request from the get-go (within reason) which gave me the confidence to finally go through the procedure... a major oral surgery for implants on both the upper and lower arches which I kept putting off for years. This process requires a lot of visits and time in between for gums and implants to heal. I will be receiving my permanent implants in a few weeks and I couldn't be more excited. At 72 years of age, I have many years of experience with dental offices and dentists.

This provider stands out for several reasons so I want to let others to know the reason I am recommending them.
1. They serve both HMO and PPO Delta Dental patients!

Many dentists will not accept HMO MEDICARE which often serves folks unable to pay higher premiums, because the HMO plan reimburses dentists at a lower rate. Unfortunately, the ones that do, in my experience, often pad their bills by adding procedures not coveted by insurance. These costs are passed onto patients as out of pocket costs. The providers often refused service unless I was willing to pay!
2. Cali care dentists offer the most current dental care practices which Delta refuses to cover. Fortunately, CALI Care will let you know which costs are not covered by insurance before they initiate the care.
3. The front desk is very knowledgeable and responds quickly via phone.
4. Their hygienists and dentists provide the most thorough deep cleaning!
6. You feel welcomed as soon as you enter the office; and feel you are amongst friends!

Every other DELTA HMO provider I DELTA’s Medicare HMO program (tried4) referred me to, with one exception, employed very deceptive practices designed to earn money for procedures not covered by the HMO Medicare plan. CALI-Care is different; they are honest brokers whose owners are onsite and seem to have their patient’s best interests as their primary goal. Kudos to them!”“
