“I started going to Dr. J. Cortese about 30 years ago. He healed me from my dental trauma from my childhood dentist. I have crowns that he put in that are 25+ years old and in good shape. There was a number of years that I didnt see them due to changes in my life and I was never completely satified with the 3 different dentist that I went to. I am happy that circumstances changed and I am back in their good hands. I have seen Dr. Kara, Dr. Joseph Cortese and Dr. Frank Cortese all of whom I would give 10/10 to. The entire staff is awesome! “A really wonderful dentist. I drive all the way to Berkeley from Sacramento to see them. I have a rare medical condition that has specific implications for dental health. They've been accommodating and proactive -- doing research where necessary to make sure that I'm getting the best care possible. I've also never had an attempt to upsell cosmetic work here; no discussion of whitening or veneers, both of which I had every dentist mention every single visit the whole time I lived in Los Angeles. Do I have to bill back to insurance? Yes. Have I ever had a problem with that? No. Ultimately, billing back to insurance (as others have mentioned in their reviews) is a very small tradeoff for me when compared with having a dental team that I trust.“

“We love Dr. Denise and Uptown Pediatric Dentistry! My little one is always comfortable and actually looks forward to coming, big plus!. The practice is expanding and their new office at 490 Post Street feels more like a luxury medi-spa than a dental practice. I find myself looking forward to my dental visits like a treat for myself rather than obligatory maintenance.

Dr. Patel keeps up on advancements in the field and is an early adopter of new technologies. They now use 'air polishing' for cleaning. I've had it twice now and it seems faster and more comfortable.

They recommended I do the Oral DNA test and sent me home with a simple spit collection kit. It measures the types and population of various bacteria in the microbiome and identifies strains associated with periodontal disease and cavities. We switched up my home care routine based on the results and my exam today shows excellent progress!

Dr. Patel isn't one of those dentists that just focuses on treating the symptoms. She has a holistic approach focusing on restoring balance and good health. Why isn't more healthcare like this?

I'm so happy with my clean teeth!

UPDATE in 2023: my 15 year old son is now seeing Dr. Patel. She's finally gotten him interested in oral care. He loves taking care of his teeth now! ******
Fantastic results in my first visit! I needed a deep root cleaning and it was totally painless. I had a whitening treatment and my teeth look so youthful. I didn't realize what a difference that could make for my whole appearance. Dr. Patel explained everything and I felt like she really took the time and effort to understand what's important to me. Lauren was fantastic with the new patient orientation and Damaris did a beautiful job with the cleaning. Top to bottom a great experience. I can't recommend them more highly.
UPDATE: February 2020 - I've been seeing Dr. Patel for almost 2 years now. My gums are in great shape and I get compliments on my smile. They take such great care of you, including their Comfort Spa Menu. Going to Green Dentistry really is like coming to a spa - for your smile!“

“My overall experience as a patient at Itani Dental is nothing short of exceptional. I have had anxiety going to the dentist since childhood but Dr. Itani and his team have been instrumental in making me feel comfortable and at ease from when I first came in for consultation at the beginning of this year to now. They worked with me and accommodated my request from the get-go (within reason) which gave me the confidence to finally go through the procedure... a major oral surgery for implants on both the upper and lower arches which I kept putting off for years. This process requires a lot of visits and time in between for gums and implants to heal. I will be receiving my permanent implants in a few weeks and I couldn't be more excited. My oral health is back in tip top shape, I can enjoy eating my favorite foods, and yes you guessed it... I can smile again with confidence. Thank you, Itani Dental team... you guys are the best!

“Aloha Dentistry is an AMAZING office for children who have some dental fears. We switched to this office after my son experienced a lot of anxiety at his last office. Dr. Ameneh just has the best bedside manner, and all the staff is so welcoming and accommodating in helping to calm the patients. Even though they don't take Delta Dental and I pay out of pocket, the costs are not unreasonable, and they work with Delta to get you reimbursed. 10 stars, definitely recommend!“
