“I had a great first experience with the optometrist, Dr. Cha. He seemed approachable, professional, and took the time to explain everything thoroughly. However, the front desk staff could improve their communication and customer service. When selecting and purchasing my glasses, I had to ask about things like polycarbonate lenses instead of being informed upfront. Additionally, I didn’t receive any text or phone call reminders for my appointment. I had to call the day before, since my appointment was on Presidents Day, to make sure they were still seeing me.

My appointment was on 2/17/25, and I was told I’d receive a call when my glasses were ready for pickup. It’s now 3/5/25, and I never got that call. I had to reach out myself today, only to find out my glasses are ready for pick up. The front desk staff isn’t rude, but they don’t go the extra mile in terms of communication or follow-ups, which is disappointing.

On the plus side, parking is great as the place is located in a small plaza.“

“My family and I have been coming here for a few years now. They are out of network for VSP but their prices are still way more affordable than when I went to an in-network optical. I went again today and I'll just say what I paid out of pocket for my glasses was a third of what I paid in-network elsewhere. Dr. Shamsaee is really knowledgeable and patient. I needed dual focal contacts last year and she worked with me several times to find the right combination. Their optician, Alejandro, super friendly and knows what he's doing. Great customer service. He was willing to price out several pairs of frames for me so I could decide on how best to use my insurance benefits. No hard upsell like at other places. I told him what I needed and he gave me the quotes.“

Dr Stephen Chinn took care of me when i came back from a Vietnam trip with a scratch on my left eye. Walked me through every step from the medicine, healing time and the length of recovery. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a great optometrist.“

“I have been going to Invision for years and have had top notch service with Dr. Kling for my exams and Dr. Ordonez for my dry eyes' issues. They have been so very thorough and always take their time. Recently Dr. Kling stepped down from seeing patients and I will now see Dr. Ordonez for BOTH services which I am very pleased with. She makes everything very clear when I don't understand the medical terms for my issues. Dr. O works hard to make sure I can receive AND afford my needed prescriptions as well as try any new procedures to help with my SEVERE dry eyes. The facility is clean, well-staffed with state-of-the-art equipment. I HIGHLY recommend. You won't be disappointed!“

“Wanted to give props to the staff at La Mesa Vision, especially Susanna, for handling a rush job for new lenses and glasses frame for my daughter. She is a patient from Dec 2023 and was here in Feb 2025 for a short visit from Spain, where she now resides.

Susanna took the initiative to order the frames ahead of my daughter’s stay so they would be ready for her to approve the order of new lenses and also sunglass lenses. The Susanna placed a rush order with a local lab so the new lenses would be ready by the time my daughter left San Diego on the next leg of her trip.

Susanna kept us up to date on the progress of the order. The lenses could have been shipped to her in Spain, but Susanna understood what a delay that would cause because Spanish customs often keeps items for several weeks before releasing them for delivery.“

“I have been seeing Dr. Kevin M. Riggs, Optometrist and visiting this location for over 15 years. The office has always been very friendly, cordial, on time and accommodating to my schedule. They have a great selection of frames and lenses both prescription and sunglasses. I have also had my cataract and glaucoma eye screenings done as well. The staff is super nice, the location is centrally located and within 10 minutes from most areas in El Cajon, La Mesa and Mission Valley. Dr. Riggs really seem to care about my eye health and is genuine.“

“I came there today because my iPhone was not charging and the audio quality was poor. The guy there cleaned out the microphone jacks and did a number of other things. Not even sure all what he did. Now everything works great and he didn't even want any money for the work. Never seen a shop like this.“

“The doctors are very nice and knowledgeable and they get me in and out of the appointment really fast but the front desk receptionist is very rude. Seems like she hates her job and she is unprofessional as she referred to me as “this girl”, even right after I had told her my name. I understand if she forgot my name as there is many patients but she could’ve referenced me as “the patient” instead of “this girl”. I had a question about one of the charges that was on my invoice and I went back in after my appointment to ask if I could speak to someone. The same receptionist left to grab someone to help me and when she was explaining the situation to the doctor, the receptionist said “well this girl wants someone to describe what refraction means.” I do not no the receptionist name as she did not have a name tag and she did not tell me her name, but she has tattoos and she did not once tell me to have a good day , she did not say “thank you for coming in” and she honestly seemed annoyed that I was asking questions about what I was being charged for. I have been coming to this office since elementary school and I’ve never had an issue until now as an adult. Even when I checked in for my appointment she just looked annoyed that I was bothering her when I just asked where to sign. Please get a new receptionist.“

“I am 40 and started wearing glasses at 5 years old. My 16yo son started wearing glasses at 4 years old. We've seen eye Drs all over the world (prior military family!) so we're well versed with optometrists and ophthalmologists. However - We've been seeing Dr Lum for over 7 years, since we first arrived in San Diego. He's always attentive, considerate, kind and gives us plenty of options and choices of care. He's flexible and has incredible bedside manner with his patients. I won't go anywhere else!“

“So grateful for Dr. Sandoc who was able to fit me into her schedule as an urgent add on this week after seeing floaters for the first time. Five plus stars for her being so thorough in her exams, clear explanations and overall great clinical skills and demeanor. Would highly recommend her.“
