“I’ve had the privilege of attending both the original Shadow Week and Shadow Week 2.0, and each time I’ve come away with a deeper understanding of dogs, myself, and the relationship between us.

What I enjoy most about this program is the philosophy of letting dogs truly be dogs—giving them freedom and space to be themselves instead of micromanaging or over-controlling their behaviours. It’s less about rigid management and more about understanding where your dog is at: when to simply let them be, when to step in with support, and when a correction is actually appropriate.

This program helped me approach dogs less as a math equation and more as individuals. It has shifted the way I think about training: I learned to pause, observe, and respond thoughtfully instead of trying to predict or control every outcome.
