I am writing this from the perspective of a customer, a fellow local contractor, and the project manager for a renovation that was extremely important to our church and parishioners. Our church dates back to 1911, and much of the flooring Epic restored was the original Douglas fir from that period. I had also spent much of the previous year painting and renovating the church and was personally involved in designing the new inlaid flooring and other architectural updates, so I was very particular about selecting the right flooring contractor.
Months before the project began, I met with several local flooring contractors. Epic Hardwoods stood out immediately. Jade and Jorge came out, listened carefully to what we were trying to accomplish, took the historic nature of the project seriously, and seemed genuinely enthusiastic about doing it well. Their quote was also timely, detailed, and very fair.
Once the work began, everyone from Epic was professional from start to finish. Jade, Jorge, Cody, Greg, Ethan, and the rest of the crew showed up when they said they would, maintained a clean and organized jobsite, and treated the church with tremendous respect. As a contractor myself I can assure you their level of professionalism was top-notch.
Communication was also excellent. Jade stayed on top of the administrative side of the project, while Cody regularly sent me photos, videos, and progress updates. Whenever I visited the jobsite, the crew took time to explain where they were in the process and helped us make informed decisions.
They created well over a dozen stain and finish samples for us and carefully walked through the pros and cons of the different stains, hard-wax oils, and finish systems. That process gave us confidence that we were making the right choice both aesthetically and for long-term durability.
The craftsmanship was outstanding. Epic restored and repaired the historic Douglas fir flooring while also installing new parquet flooring, borders, and custom inlays. Blending new material into a historic church is not easy, but the finished result is beautiful. The precision of the parquet and inlay work was excellent, and the photos truly speak for themselves.
They also took the time to explain proper long-term maintenance and provided the correct cleaning products and equipment for us to care for the floors properly.
Overall, I could not be happier that we selected Epic Hardwoods. This was a highly visible historic preservation project that meant a great deal to hundreds of parishioners, and they delivered from beginning to end.
They were professional, communicative, knowledgeable, patient, and exceptionally skilled. I would recommend Epic Hardwoods without hesitation for any project where craftsmanship and attention to detail truly matter.
