A while back, I went into Great Floors in Silverdale as a first-time buyer of flooring, and the Rep who initially helped me was ED MURILLO. We discussed the cost of the flooring of which I was interested in purchasing, and I told him I might just purchase the flooring and have someone else do the install. I asked him if they would give a discount to the outside installer for the flooring. He said yes if he was eligible. Then later, after thinking about it, I asked if he would give ME the same discount if I had GF to do the install. I was appalled at his response. He had an immediate personality change and raised his voice to me and very rudely said ‘NO!’, that the company had to pay HIM, they had to keep the lights on, and yadeyadeyada and so on. I felt his behavior was totally inexcusable, and I felt belittled as I sat there speechless. It made no sense to me that they could give the outside installer a discount but not the customer who would have had the company to do the installation. In either event, if it was okay to give the outside installer the discount, but yet not work with me for the same discount and get GF business. He would still need to be paid and they would still need to have the lights on.
A few days later, I went back to GF to return a wood sample board. As I walked in, Ed was not present, but GF Rep, JOSH WOOD, was there to kindly and politely help me. A HUGE difference in night and day with salesmanship! I told him I was just returning the sample to ED, and that I had decided to go elsewhere to purchase my flooring. He asked me if there was anything he could do to change my mind. I told him of my personal experience with Ed and that I was not happy. He asked me to sit down and see what he could do to keep my business. JOSH gave me an incredible discount on my purchase because of my bad experience with ED ‘to keep my business’. He even took the time with me to discuss the different qualities of flooring of which Ed didn’t seem interested in doing without my asking. JOSH offered his personal opinion on flooring selections that would work well with my carpet color. I made my purchase with JOSH and was extremely happy with my dealings with him. I just wish I had read the GF reviews BEFORE my first trip there as at the time, there were all sorts of outstanding reviews about JOSH WOOD! He would have been my pick in the first place. Without Josh earning my business, I would have taken my business elsewhere. And guess what! I am now ready to make another flooring purchase, and it will definitely be with JOSH WOOD just because of his good manners and professional salesmanship. GF is very fortunate to have him as an employee!“
