We got three estimates for a full roof replacement with removal, new installation, and added insulation in the summer of 2023. It was a close call between Valentin Roofing and Mears Roofing, but we chose Mears because of Ben’s expertise and thoughtful guidance. He saved us money by pointing out that our garage has no wall insulation—so insulating over the garage roof wouldn’t retain heat anyway. That kind of practical, homeowner-first advice really stood out.When it came down to choosing which option of roof finish and color, Ericka stepped in and help us make the best choice. Her depth of industry knowledge and helpful suggestions landed us with the Malarkey Vista shingles and three years later, it still looks amazing.

Once we scheduled, communication was prompt and clear: arrival times, expected duration, and even daily photo updates. The team did walkthrough inspections and provided prompt triage when they discovered some rotten wood, which they replaced the right way. Mears also coordinated smoothly with our chimney repair team so both projects stayed on track.

The finished roof looks fantastic and handled big fall storms without a hiccup. Later, after a different contractor made cosmetic changes on one side of the roof, we noticed water marks from a leak. Even though it wasn’t Mears’ work, Ben came the same day and fixed a small flashing mismatch—no hesitation, just great follow‑through. That level of integrity and support after the job is rare.

“We had water damage to our kitchen leading into our garage. We had a company come out and help us and recommended these guys. The entire team was cool. We had a mishap in the beginning with them, but they resolved it rather quickly allowing us to get our kitchen, floors, electrical, paint, drywall, and everything else fixed an done. Brandon is a nice understanding individual and our project manager Bo helped us alot he was always updating and communicating, his team that he sent out for all the needs we had were outstanding and polite, they cleaned up after themselves didn't leave anything for me to clean up, they were easy to talk to and ask questions on anything, they asked me questions and making sure certain things were okay. I have dogs and they would also let me know and tell me if they were going to be extra loud that day wether cutting and drilling inside or outside. “A long-time, trusted friend referred me to Bastaldi when we needed our roof replaced. She was familiar with their work, having had her own roof replaced the prior winter, and was very confident in their skills. After meeting Jorge for our bid, we were fully on board. The initial process was quick and smooth: we had a bid within one business day and the guys scheduled to start within a few days.We had a team of three guys come to replace our roof (full tear off and install) and they were all very polite and kind. Abraham, the lead, took his time to let us know their plan and how they would work. He even supplied photos as the work progressed to show us where the areas of damage were. The guys were meticulous in their cleanup and I have yet to find an errant nail or piece of roof debris (I’m writing this about 3 weeks later)!We have all new boots and vents, they inspected the attic for any evidence of moisture and for proper ventilation, we have ice and water shields all around, and best of all, the team is Certainteed-certified so we can sleep at night knowing our roof is protected by the manufacturer for many, many years to come.Hire Bastaldi.
