“I am so grateful to have found Jennifer and New Life Pilates - after I graduated from PT for knee and hip issues, I knew I needed more one-on-one assistance with continuing to build strength and pain-free mobility. “I’ve been doing Pilates with the wonderful Olivia since May 2022. I would say it was one of the best decisions I’ve made for myself and my body. I am an active athlete and ran track at the collegiate level. I came to her initially because I am a Massage Therapist with the goals of just being overall wellness for myself and clients. Since working with her I’ve been able to connect with my body on a deeper level and really develop a whole new love and care for it. Olivia is an overall an amazing person. I looked forward to our weekly sessions because she teaches from her heart and her passion is felt and reflected in her work. Some people teach Pilates, with Olivia she is one who breaths and lives Pilates and I feel that is important when doing this type of work. Since working with Olivia and doing this work, I’ve benefited both mentally, physically and even spiritually. I didn’t realize how compressed I was and limited in my range of motion because being an athlete and lifting heavy was all I knew. Doing Pilates I’ve learned that that less is truly more and learning to work with my body instead of against it. I’ve gained a whole new love for my body and for Pilates. “I just upgraded to unlimited (and you will too if you give it a try) within my 3 month commitment. Club Pilates is the most amazing environment I've ever had working out, and I've tried it all. The studio itself is transparent and friendly and informative! It's clean and the equipment is well cared for.Pilates is not about competition or about showing up at 100% each time. It is about your body and how it works. It is about control of your muscles and mind and breathing. It is about getting stronger and more balanced each time. It's also more often than not about "feet in straps"... and it can also be about cardio if you take those classes, or happen to have an instructor that is extra bouncy!Each instructor has their own personality and brings their own style to the reformer, which is great and fun to come back knowing what kind of class you will have based on the person. Even in my first class, I felt welcomed and safe and encouraged to only go as far as I could that day.As someone with chronic low back pain, I can vouch that Pilates done regularly (even at home if you only go in twice a week!) will keep the low back pain at bay (yes they have virtual classes).I've been going for 2 months and have 12 classes under my belt. I am very excited to continue on this journey with everyone at the studio!“
