Dr. Monk was my daughter's pediatrician for most of her childhood. I couldn't have asked for a better doctor for her. He is kind, compassionate, caring, and has a wonderful, soothing manner. His explanations are clear and complete, and he's always willing to discuss treatment plans.
I lost my glasses, and needed a new pair as I realized my last exam had been some time ago. I booked an appointment and was able to get the intake paperwork done ahead of time. That meant when I came for my appointment, things went really quickly. Everyone was smart, courteous, and efficient. I felt like I got a very thorough exam and but had no wasted time waiting for the next person or next step. They put a rush on my glasses (kind of a harder than average case) and in less than a week, I had them in hand. The fit was perfect and I am super happy with them.I work in another branch of medicine and I can tell you that these folks have it down. Smart, caring and efficient. Very pleased.

Heather is awesome. Been going to her for nearly 3 years now. Her cuts are masterfully precise -- nothing missed or out of place -- and she does great color treatments that look super natural. I never have to worry about walking out with a style I didn't ask for. In fact, I postpone washing my hair after my appts for as long as possible, because my hair always looks so great right out of the salon. The products she uses also all smell fresh and not overwhelming or too perfumed.
FELLOW CURLY GIRLS- I FOUND YOUR SALON!!! I have been to many salons in a lot of major cities over the years, and I was so happy to have found Kelli on BI. I have naturally curly hair and have had too many bad experiences to count. Lots of us seek out "curly hair specialists" (go Lorraine Massy and her Curly Girl Method!) and pay hundreds of dollars for a cut that is... well, not good to say the least. Kelli is BY FAR the best. No really, she is the best. I had to jump on here to give her my highest recommendation to ANYONE with natural curls. She'll dry cut it. YES, she will dry cut your curls which is again, hard to find. Plus, she did my color and JACKPOT! She is an expert colorist and this is another area where she shines. She is a lovely human and true artist. Her salon is calming place, and she will take good care of you. So-if you have natural curls (or any other type of texture), give her a try; I think you will be very very very happy. Cheers!

I went to Scarlett Rockway to get some nice color in my hair in preparation for a big family wedding. My hair was half grey, and very white on top where I part my hair. I told Scarlett I was worried about brass, orange effects, bleaching, etc., and emphasized that I didn't even want anything like strawberry. Wow!!! She used different hair colors-a little lowlighting with a little highlighting throughout my upper hair and the result makes me feel so great I can't even tell you. I haven't had that "spun gold" look since high school. I am most definitely repeating the color every 8 weeks with Scarlett. I'm 64 and have never had a facial. My daughter gifted me this service, so I had my first, but not my last facial. Leisl was my provider. She was wonderful. In 2019 & 2020 we had a toilet at Cups Espresso & Cafe in downtown Bainbridge Island that would sometimes get clogged after customers used it - oftentimes beyond what we could plunge on our own. Since it was the only restroom, when that happened, we would need assistance quickly. I came across Approved Plumbing using a Google search after all the other plumbers I called one day couldn't come and help us. Adam came over quickly and fixed the issue immediately, and in the several instances after that. He was always super quick and helpful. Then, after the pattern emerged of the toilet being the issue, he researched different types for us to replace it with so we could avoid having to call him to unclog it. With his help and working with our landlord, the old toilet was replaced and we haven't needed to call a plumber for it since. We'll make sure to keep calling Approved Plumbing for other plumbing needs as they arise, but it was wonderful to have someone who not only fixed the short term problem, but also worked with us on a long term solution that would ultimate save us money.
I have to put in a good word for Bainbridge Island Plumbing. Despite working 13-hour days of late during the cold snap, they were still able to fit my repair job in when they happened to be in the area. They replaced the brass pipe with more expandable PEX (polyethylene), and the faucet as well. All for a very reasonable price. Quick and professional.

We had wonderful assistance from Lisa at the Silverdale store buying new appliances. The Beko dual fuel range unfortunately just didn't meet our expectations. We tried to work with it for a couple of months and decided that it just was not the best unit for our needs. We worked with Lisa and James about our options and they went to bat for us with the local Beko rep Jason. We got a prompt and courteous call back from the Beko regional service manager who said he would personally come to our house to address our needs. He was called away on a family emergency and rather than have us wait Albert Lee's James and Lisa arranged for us to simply swap out the unit for another one that better meets our needs. How wonderful to be treated like this! Both Albert Lee and Beko deserve the highest of ratings.
We used Day Rd Electric (Jason) when we needed the electric supply line extended for our new heat pump water heater and Jason was extremely professional and made some safety checks and additional work while he was at our house. Fast forward to October 2023 and I needed some help with a simple request and Jason worked with me over the phone to fix the issue without a visit and without a charge! Dr. Brian is a fantastic chiropractor. He is very patient centered, personable, and takes the time to get to know his patient’s history in order to better understand what is going on with the presenting issue or concern. Dr. Brian is a comprehensive diagnostician and carefully thinks through the best course of action, as well as how various issues may be connected. looking at the root cause and moving from there. I’m an active almost 60 yr old mom of 5 with lower back issues due to the babies. Slight scoliosis was discovered in my recent visit. My poor spine looked like a roller coaster. Way out of alignment (had some bad “spills” over the last couple of years). Much less pain experienced in the first couple of visits and a clear plan of action moving forward. He also doesn’t “over-book” clients. I appreciate this in an honest and ethical business practice. The staff is so kind and welcoming which is huge. I highly recommend Livingwell Chiropractic!

I've gone to Dr Jerry since his first day in practice on the Island, so it's been years. I have a standing appointment every two weeks. He's fabulous. He's my first line of defense in my world of assaults from home and yard maintenance, as well as keeping me balanced in a world of stress factors. I highly recommend him for an acute situation, a prolonged situation, an injury, or regular maintenance. He's the best.
My corgi is very fussy and has not let anyone touch her feet since she was a puppy. The wonderful folks here work magic and are able to trim her nails, and do a wonderful job with her fur. Super friendly and helpful.
Good for what it is ... a self-serve dog wash. Laid out well. Good basic supplies. They can also do nail trim, etc, for you if you don't have the energy. Overall, a good convenience, vastly easier than washing a bigger dog in a tub or shower at home.
